    ballast prob?? PLEASE help!!

Flickering is usually caused by a leak in the seal of the bulb. If air gets into the bulb, even just a tiny bit, it'll effect how the gases in the bulb can become ionized. The most likely solution to your problem is to get a new bulb. Home Depot should have 400 watt bulbs for about $25.

    Molasses?

I'll be the first to admit I'm an ass (like I gives a flying F...!), however, I'm also interested in learning the truth rather than dogma (which is why I posted that one research paper showing 0.6%, refuting my own claim). I actually regret the name calling, this discussion would have been...

    Molasses?

Man, I'm more than happy to admit mistakes, why the fuck do you think I posted that study? I'm more interested in finding the truth than being wrong. 0.6%. That's it. And BTW, there's still no study showing any actual benefit to adding carbos when one considers the nutrient lock up and lower...

    L.E.D lighting

LED lighting is much more expensive per watt than any other type of lighting. If you can't afford HPS then you can't afford LEDs. Because LEDs have a lower electrical efficiency than other types of lighting, LED lighting will produce more heat per watt compared to CFL or HPS (no way around...

    new ufo led lights

They certainly do put out heat, they have built in fans (3 I believe). They don't put out anywhere near 1000 watt equivelent. The UFO puts out about 60 umol/sec of light, a 1000 watt HPS puts out closer to 1800 umol/sec of light. LEDs are grossly over rated for budding out pot. Most LED grow...

THE END OF H.I.Ds?? Sulphur plama technology

I think you might be getting dark matter confused with anti-matter. Dark matter is thought to be normal matter such as neutrinos that do not interact with the magnetic force. There's other particle types of dark matter, see the link below. Anti-matter is like normal matter but the electrical...

THE END OF H.I.Ds?? Sulphur plama technology

Nothing new here, people have been conjecturing this since the early 1990's. Notice how they make no mention of thermodynamics? Notice how they mention that the errors are a few parts in a million even if the errors exist. The errors are only in making measurements millions of light years away...

How long should i run CO2?

Valid points but it also depends on the size of the chamber. I trickle it and have had no problems what so ever. If you have a small chamber, bring it up to 1500ppm then switch the CO2 off, the CO2 will be consumed in no time. That being said, you're making valid points.

    13 hrs dark/ 11 hrs light

It's an interesting idea and certainly a worthy experiment. My thought though is that by cutting the hours you are reducing the amount of total photosynthesis. By reducing the amount of photosynthesis then you'll reduce your yield.

    13 hrs dark/ 11 hrs light

Won't work. Light period is controlled by phytochrome and the molecule needs time to go back to it's lower energy state. Photoperiod is controlled by darkness, not light. Phytochrome - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

How long should i run CO2?

I have no idea why hydrofarm would say that. Check out the vid below and you can see how fast photosynthesis/gas exchange kicks in when the lights come on. YouTube - Photosynthesis under water

    superthrive????

I couldn't find any difference in using superthrive on healthy plants using controls. The naphthyl acetic acid and vitamin B1 in superthrive should help with rooting, transplant shock and/or stress.

    Fan wireing question

Nope! Lower voltage is going to give a lower current. A lower current will give less of a fire hazard. If you look at the data sheet of these 12 volt box fans they'll usually say that 12 volts is the max. You can always pulse width modulate the motor to get an effective lower voltage. This will...

Yup, I don't see my little 270 watt Son-Agro HPS system being replaced anytime soon.

THE END OF H.I.Ds?? Sulphur plama technology

Yeah, you know, I get so frusterated with these wild claims from manufactuers that can't be backed up. I bought into the LED hype 18 months ago, and well, you can probably guess how that worked out ($700 later...). At least my ignorance of how effective LEDs are at the current state of...

    One LED Panel good enough?

These cheap Chinese made panels are darn near worthless for budding based on personal experience. Even CFL will do better than these 5mm LED arrays.

    Fan wireing question

Yes, I do this for noise considerations.
