What the best yielding Kush strain?

No, what I'm saying is that yield has more to do with environmental conditions (light levels, light quality, CO2 levels, amount of dissolved oxygen in the root zone, fertilizer levels, etc etc) and the skill of the grower rather than the minor genetic variations of the Kush strains. I've grown...

Advice on LED all blue panels

These Chinese made 225 LED panels are a joke, despite the claims you'll be lucky if they last 6 months. I'm sorry that you bought them because they are one of the biggest scams in grow lights. Pure blue is a bad idea except for maybe mother plants. The problem with blue photons is that they...

    2x50watt hps

Bongulator is essentially right. 10,000 Lumens per square foot is closer what full sunlight at the equator is, not 5,000. (100,000 lux / 10.764 = 9290 lumens/foot^2...the equator can be up to 130,000 lux). The photosynthesis net saturation point for a C3 plant like pot is 1000-1200...

    L.E.D lighting

As someone with actual experience with LEDs, low and high power, I can say with empiricism that they are an over priced joke. High power LEDs are roughly comparable to CFL and 5mm LEDs are worse than CFL. I have 120 watts worth. If people want an over priced, under performing lighting system...

    led lights

Gee...wy to spam. It wouldn't be so bad if your products actually worked as advertised. BS, 've got 120 watts of LEDs, both low power arrays and custom built high power units, and after multiple grow cycles while doing side by side comparisons between LEDs vs CFL or HPS I've found that LEDs...

    24/0 Light?

Oh man, this is anecdotal and needs to be taken with a huge grain of salt. 2 plants hardly qualifies as anything close to a definitive answer. The rate of photosynthesis will be proportional to the amount of light that they receive. This is why I use a 24/0 cycle.

    Molasses?

Bottom line, you people have not been able to back up your claims with a peer reviewed white paper that molasses, sugar or carbs have any positive benefit for plants. Yup, molasses has some nutes that can be a benefit for plants but what's bullshit is that NONE of you can back your claim that...

    Molasses?

WTF? Speculation in this context has nothing to do with finances. ROFLMAO. Jesus Christ on a stick, that was just ridiculous. Speculation: Contemplation or consideration of a subject; meditation. A conclusion, opinion, or theory reached by conjecture. Reasoning based on inconclusive evidence...

    Questions on UV

UV has no photosynthetic properties and would not be useful in veging. The only shown possible benefit of UV is as a supplement in flowering to possibly raise THC levels. Keep in mind that this is an area that has not been fully researched and I'd call more hypothesis than theory...

    Molasses?

No, I haven't tried molasses. What I'm saying is in all of the history of botany there has not been so much as one peer reviewed white paper to support the claim that adding molasses or anyother carbo to plants has any positive benefit. People should be asking why this is instead of buying into...

    Amsterdam Marijuana Seeds?

Remember, as with most things in life, you get what you pay for. With these budget seed shops, what often happens is that they'll buy more expensive seeds from other shops, seed out those plants and then sell those seeds to you. The net result is that the consumer gets unstable genetics and...

    Questions on UV

We use blue light in veg to lower auxin levels and this keeps the internodes from elongating and the plant compact. We use red in flowering because this does not suppress the auxin levels (as much) and auxins are vital for flowering. Green and far red (720-780nm) has also been shown to boost...

What the best yielding Kush strain?

Yield is going to be more of a factor of environmental conditions and the skill of the grower rather than minor variations in the genetics of Kush strains.

    marijuana grafting

Intragenetic grafting of cannabis and humulus (hops) is possible (Warmke, Davis 1943, Crombie 1975) since hops and pot are very similar genetically. You will NOT, however, be able to graft hops on a cannabis root stock and get THC in the hops.

    16k lumens HPS vs. CFL

5mm reds are particularily weak; I used 3 different types of photo sensors with a digital storage oscilloscope because I had a hard time believing they were so weak. A lot more R&D has been thown into the 5mm blue LEDs, however, due to their being used as white LEDs. The 5mm LEDs simple do not...

    16k lumens HPS vs. CFL

I like how you mention PUR in one of your threads. I've actually gone round and round about what spectral absorbtion chart is best to use. A lot of these fraud LED grow light manufactuers are using charts that only show absorbtion of various wavelengths of chlorophyll suspended in a solvent and...

    16k lumens HPS vs. CFL

Respect out for doing the light mapping. I like to see this sort of empricism. Lumens is kind out a poor unit of measurement for plant lighting. A pure red light source (say 650nm) is going to have a much lower lumens rating than a green light source (say 555nm) even though the actual photon...

    Should I Start Flowering?

I agree with Satman but I'd top then wait 3 days or so after topping and then start flowering. I always like to give a little veg time after topping but this is just personal preference. Get another CFL light of two WITH reflectors.
