Bud Washing? Is it really that big of a game changer

It's a matter of timing, pairs of hands, and time it takes. When you cut down a 100' hooper with 360 plants and 8 pairs of hands on deck, it takes about 6-8 hours to get every last branch hung. Washing every stick would more than double that time, if not triple it. To have to invest the money in...

Defoliation to distribute light more evenly to bud sites?

Oh I see, somehow I missed the before pic from your first post. Oops. I would say to not pull more than 10% of healthy fan leaves at any point. IMO it's good for them to start yellowing and dropping some fan leaves during their last few weeks, it means they're taking a bit of their own nitrogen...

Bud Washing? Is it really that big of a game changer

In two years down in sohum, I never heard of anybody doing this. There just isn't time with the quantities involved, you have to rely on your trimmers to cull out the bad stuff.

    Best Bud Trimming Scissors?

Yup. You can even get them now with blades that are curved to get more with each snip.

Defoliation to distribute light more evenly to bud sites?

I'm firmly in the 'it's no big deal to pull some leaves' camp. That said, your plants don't have enough to spare, so in the case of that strain, I wouldn't. When you get tight nodes with a bushier strain it becomes a necessity imo. This was pre defoliation on my current run.

Please can I get good advice

I've always heard they don't appreciate this, but I've never tried it myself. Pulling a few extraneous fan leaves forbetter light penetration doesn't hurt anything.

I have 2 strains in 1 tent that will finish at different times, how do I dry them?

No. Those are for maintenance, not drying. Hang them in the biggest cardboard box you can reasonably find with a fan inside and a couple big holes to let it breathe.

    First experience with GO Box

I used a couple of roots products like 5 years or so ago and wasn't impressed, but I'd be willing again I suppose. I learned an absolutely killer tea recipe when I lived in sohum for two years, once the weather permits I'll probably go back to it. Oh- in case anybody cares, the front middle and...

    First experience with GO Box

I should mention that I'm actually really happy with it for veg. The color of all the plants was great. The growth speed was good. Not as good as with the teas I usually make, but really good for almost no effort beyond making sure the pH was correct. Even the squid juice doesn't smell that bad...

    First experience with GO Box

Howdy all. I just moved and got set up for first indoor in a while, I'm currently living in an area that, suffice to say, forces me to buy from Amazon. A lot. They had a killer sale on the GO Box, I'd used a couple of those products and liked them, so I gave it a shot. Lighting was 400w 4200k...

HOw long usually after 12/12 lights does SEX show?

Why? They will show sex on their own. Last time I planted 50 seeds, the slowest two showed sex with the 7th leaf node. 0 out of 50 needed 12/12 light. Most of the rest showed at the fifth. By forcing them to flower you might make them show sex slightly faster but you lose the same amount of time...

    Greenhouse Alaska, Round 1

OK, update time: basically, the terrible weather continued for most of the 6 weeks after my last post. Lots of pics happened, some of which are potentially lost forever due to a hard drive crash, more exist but I'll have to spend some time digging them out of my computer. Maybe tomorrow i will...

    Greenhouse Alaska, Round 1

Amshif87 i couldn't tell from that pic you posted here that most of those plants are actually planned in the ground, so never mind the comment about them being mobile :p It's been raining a lot here for weeks now, humidity is generally higher in the greenhouse than I'd like, but no sign of PM...

Oregon on a budget 2016. #s for Pennies

Nice looking garden. There's so many damn strains these days that i read people's grow threads and think "i haven't heard of almost any of this stuff." The Skywalker i actually have heard of. Why do you say you'll definitely need a new cover for the 13x33 next year? Ours is holding up...

    Greenhouse Alaska, Round 1

Nice! Yeah it looks like you'll have some space issues in there in a few weeks, but at least all your plants look like they're somewhat mobile. Looks like a couple are sativa heavy hybrids in there? I'm jealous of your latitude, we would have to start pulling a tarp in early July here to have...

    Greenhouse Alaska, Round 1

Got a few more autos budding or crowning now, a couple of them are still pretty small, i definitely agree with many of the 2fast2vast reviews I've read- the plants that do well do very well, but the ones that don't, don't do well. The strain just needs more work. But even the ones that just...

    Greenhouse Alaska, Round 1

The one auto that randomly went nuts immediately and got twice as big as it's brethren finally started crowning. If they all get about this big before they start, they're going to do really, really well. Happy 4th of July!

    Greenhouse Alaska, Round 1

The 2 Fast 2 Vast has this crazy growth spurt that it does, and I'm starting to get better at judging the point where it happens. The trick seems to be to tie them down right before it happens, then the side growth goes totally nuts during the growth spurt. The guy that told us about this strain...

    Greenhouse Alaska, Round 1

Got some more net up yesterday, waiting for the autos to get a bit bigger so they can all get tied down once and then we'll finish it.
