There is no negative impact as you said , but some plants don't react to super cropping, they witness no changes and grow and behave as there was no croppin .. so the method becomes useless eventually !

So I think you just keep going with same stuff you doing ! Just make sure nothing is disturbing their process !

You may need to ask him for the strain he's been growing before advising him with a cropping method ! Not all cannabis plant benefit and improve from a cropping !

Not all plants are the same and have the same genes .. some will grow bigger some will grown greener and some will grow fluffier ! Do not try to feed more unless you sure it's not harmful (burns could result)

I personally don't water till run off anymore, I used to do that but now I give less quantity everyday ! I find daily watering more effecient (that's my opinion depending on my plants' behavior) So if you water once each 3 or 4 days you may need to let it run off a little bit ( how ? you water...
