There are four cross bars that rest on top of the frame. They can hold a lot. I can hang my big inline fan, 600 watt hydrofarm hood(pretty heavy), my 6 in scrubber, and it is still very solid. As far as your different size filter....you could just get a coupler....i'm sure it will be fine

You should be fine. Just make sure there is fresh air circulating for optimal conditions, and keep the lights off when they need to be off. I have done the same thing with no issues.
