I run a 1000w system off of a good plug in timer. Works perfect.

Put something underneath the other plants to raise them up and level out the canopy. Tying down a plant during flower stresses it out. I wouldn't unless you are at your last resort.

If you have enough 6500k light to take it to flower (CFL or MH), use that. Then switch to HPS during 12/12. I use a 1000w for just 2 plants. The HID will give your plants an unbelievable boost for the better! If you got $30, buy a 400w MH (if your ballast will accept it)and switch to that...

I think I'm going to switch back to my 420w (10 x 42w) CFL's. It's like the surface of the Sun down there with the 1000w light. I also hated more than doubling the wattage over night. It seems to me that might be too much of a power jump not to be noticed.

Professor, You're the man! Thanks. Raise it up. One question on that. I just raised it, and it seemed to make shadow areas, because the short, bushy one, is blocking light to the bottom third of both plants. Does that matter? Or since it's a 1000w, does a few shaded areas not matter? Thanks...
