If the 2700k is all you've got, then it will work. It won't grow as well as if you had the 6500k's, but it will grow.

5000-6500k Veg 2700-3000k Flower. I, personally, started with 4/1 ratio of 5000k/2700k and flipped the ratio when I went to 12/12. I've added a 150w HPS since then, which has been awesome to my plant so far. 32-42w with the kelvin temps I said in the beginning are the best way to go IMO.

With CFL's 32-42w are the most efficient bang for your buck. I lucked into a 150w HPS for my current grow and it's been good to my plant so far. Still using a couple of 32w 2700k CFL's for side lighting, but I'm having a lot of PH and EC issues in my hydro setup. That said, good looking grow so...

My avatar is the same plant actually. At that point I was using 1 x 42w 5000k, 1 x 15w R30 style 5000k, and 1 x 32w 2700k. I was happy with it, but I was just using what I had. I've heard that it's best to have like a 4/1 ratio of lighting, but couldn't say for sure.

When that pic was taken, I was using 3 x 32w 2700k, 1 x 42w 5000k, and 1 x 11w 2700k. Right now I'm using 1x 150w HPS and 2 x 32w 2700k. I like to keep my CFL's about 3-4 inches away.

I'd have to not recommend using halogens. Yes, they're cheap.... but it will cost you more on your electric bill and the heat generated by quartz halogen bulbs is outragous !!! Not to mention, they don't give off a useful spectrum for your plant. Just spend a little bit of $ on some CFLs that...

Day 35 Pics: After I took these pics I desided to move the HPS up about 6" to see if there's just too much heat on the top of the plant. Hopefully she'll perk back up, b/c IDK what is wrong if it's not heat stress !!!

The color is from the HPS spectrum. There is still spotting on the lowest set of leaves... but that's from some early nute burn. I'm going to try to take some pics tonight right before the HPS and 2700K CFLs come on so you can get a better idea of actual color. The temps held pretty steady @ 82...
