You should be fine without green cure. I once tried spraying with green cure to kill spores, let them dry in front of a fan, harvested, immediately rinsed in the shower, and put back in front of a fan for the night. I don't know if it helped at all, but it didn't get worse, and it didn't ruin...

Don't use pine needles for mulch unless your soil is more alkaline, which is unlikely if pine is flourishing. Pine mulch is to acidic.
