First Time Grower, wondering if I messed up completely, or if everything OK.

The "soil" that poor thing is in is your first issue. Soil should have the ability to drain and light enough that it allows for air inclusions around the root mass. O2 around the roots is critical for healthy growth. Heavy clay or silty soil is going to hinder growth or kill the plant all...

First grow just a couple of questions

The plant looks healthy just starved for light. Do it a favour and at least open the blinds. If you have MG soil with time release nutes you only need to give it water and LIGHT. If you have vertical space I wouldn't scrap it, run it out.

Do these two plants look perfectly healthy to you

They appear to have a c-hair of potential heat stress but nothing to worry about IMO. They are looking pretty healthy.

Is my seeded bud still potent?

I seed a few lowers every year for propagation purposes and don't notice any negative potency. The above picture... That just looks like a pain in the ass.

    Uncle Ben's re-potting method and miracle-gro

I use MG for my first and second grow. Truth be told, the plants seemed to react fine to the feedings. I felt I pulled a decent yields (average 8oz out of 2gal pots). I found that the smoke was decent especially after a good cure. Others may disagree but I can't say MG compromised my grow in...

    Your thoughts on defoliation?

I have only once defoliated a plant and was less than pleased with the results. I did one and not her sisters. I didn't feel the end product was what it could have been, she did not ripen as quickly IMO. What I do notice every year is that fans begin to fade from the bottom up, I speculate that...

cotyledons curling and becoming hard day 7

I wouldn't worry. The cotyledons are embrionic leaves. They are full of the nutrients your plant needs in it's first days of life. You will notice that they are firmer and almost "puffy" in appearance. This is because they serve two functions, they are a reserve for water and mobile nutrients...

    Outdoor organics

I have used the pro-mix in the past but found it a little hot. I currently use the #1 as a starter for seedlings then use it as a base for the soil in their forever homes. The #1 has better moisture retention than the #4. I ammend the #1 60%/40% with compost and a healthy amount of bone meal...

    how cold can seedlings be?

Your light should be okay for a few days. As far as outside temps, mine live outside from seed to snip-snip. They are started in soil (peat mix actually) end of April to early May. Our day temps that time of year are generally 15-20 C and night temps down to 8C. I have never had an issue. The...

Help!!! Might went too far with LST

You say: Then you come to a community of people who do grow, ask them if it will survive. Your responses from the community are fairly consistent and people attempt to assist you in correcting your haphazard attempt at (what I can only assume is increasing your yield). The methods you used can...

plz help my plants keep falling over

Roots are gone? Was this the seedling? If there is still a rhizome with a few fine roots it might be okay. Bury it up to the cotyledons and keep it damp but not soaked. You will know in a day or so. Here is a picture of my lighting setup. Feel free to put some plants under it, there is more...
