you try to tie them out of the way or tuck them somehow. The plant would probably like it better if you did that. Cutting leaves obviously causes stress and plus all of the leaves are useful to the plant, in regulating its growth and development. Don't mutilate your plant!

naw its probably cool. You'd have to really fuck your plant up to make it decide to hermie while its is still vegging. Still though you should probably put it back in you grow room, and next time something is wrong with it you should pin down the problem and fix it using conventional methods...

As long as you got the light at 12/12 it shouldn't matter too much what kind of light. What is it, metal halide? I've heard of people flowering with those, but their results were lacking, so get that hps fixed asap! You did the right thing by staying in 12/12.
