Paper towel pieces stuck to root during germination-big problem?

Gotta watch those seeds once they pop! Same thing has happened to me when I forget and leave them in the paper towel a day or two longer than I should. Just be gentle, if you damage the root tip you could stunt the plants growth.

concerns with the "true yield potential" of autoflowering strains

Your yield will depend on alot of factors like lighting, technique etc... and don't plan on getting what the seed bank says, especially if it's your first time. That said, autoflower plants are great in small spaces and you can easily get an ounce per plant if you use HPS lighting and you don't...

    Vortex fans

Those are pretty good prices on Vortex - about $75 below average. I'd almost be wary of paying so much less. Could they be outdated or clearance models?

    My First Coco Grow!

Sorry to hear about your troubles bro. I fucking hate thieves - lowest form of life on Earth. If your stash was well hidden, you might consider that it was someone who knows you. What shit hole do you live in?

aeroflo 36/ custom tent..but what size

Are you sure those are the exact measurements of the unit? On the website I saw the Areoflo 36 measures 50" x 55"and about 18" tall. If that's the case, a 5'x5' pre-made tent would work, but it would be kind of cramped. I've been interested in one of those units myself, I just don't have the...

Uncle Ben's Topping Technique to Get 2 or 4 Main Colas

I see. So I guess I'm actually misusing the word "node" when I'm trying to describe the tight pack of new nodes on the apical bud. So has anyone ever said definitively whether FIM is better than regular topping in any way? From what I've seen of Uncle Ben's work, topping for four main colas...

Uncle Ben's Topping Technique to Get 2 or 4 Main Colas

Can you explain this a bit more? I've FIM'ed a couple of plants, and although the plant bushed out more, the next few sets of leaves were deformed or cut at the ends. Is that normal? I cut straight through the node taking off about 80%. I'm not clear on how you can FIM without cutting...

    Recirculating DWC Question

Yes, the more oxygen the better. You want each bucket to be filled with bubbles or your roots could drown. A couple of air pumps from a pet store and a good size air stone should do the trick. They make disc shaped air stones that are perfect for sitting in the bottom of a bucket.

    Optimizing Grow Tent Efficiency

Thanks for that video, that was really good actually. That's exactly how I want mine to be - cool, bright, and wall to wall leaves! I'm assuming your tent is a DR150, because you could fit 2 600s inside. I'm surprised you keep 2 600s so cool with such low cfm. I'm running about 240cfm right now...

    Optimizing Grow Tent Efficiency

Hi All. I recently upgraded my DR120 from a 400w to a 600w lumatek ballast. I have run into heat problems that have put my hobby to a screeching halt. I realize now after doing some research and testing that my problem is airflow. I'd like some opinions as to which direction I should take to...

Cool Tube with a Wing or Magnum XXXL 8"

I need to get temps down inside my tent, and I was thinking of getting a cool tube and attaching a wing. What was your experience with the cool tube versus another reflector? Why do you think the tube ran hotter, because the bulb is enclosed in such a small space? Peace and Thanks Skek

    Auto-flower emergency!

The original breeders recommend 20/4 from start to finish, but you shouldn't see a big loss in yield if you go 18/6. Keep in mind though, that's 14 hours less light each week, which is almost equivalent to losing one whole day of growth per week. That means about a week lost growth by the time...

just picked up a new Hydrohut silver Edition

My Dark Room has pinholes and most of the seams and zippers have light shining through in a few places. The skin is so thin it rips easily. I think next time I'll invest in either a HydroHut Silver or a Homebox. The Secret Jardin is ok for now, but the quality is only so-so. I would much prefer...

Uncle Ben's Topping Technique to Get 2 or 4 Main Colas

The first set of little round leaves is not a "true" first node. You start counting nodes after that.

    Heaths Flooded Tube Vertical

Agreed. He could make a fortune off of his ingenious designs alone. I know if I could get one of his vertical systems in a kit, versus the junk that's on the market now, I would buy it in a minute. I'm just not much of a DIY'er.
