Yea but most people take clones from matured plants if Im not mistaken. I know I do for 100% of mine at least.

If I may make a recommendation you should take your clones from the bottom up. Those tiny branches wont always make it up top and the ones you have selected would have been nice later. This is assuming that is not a mother plant and after a couple days you can flower the one you took clones from.

That's the best way to go about it for your setup. I have my cloning/veg area using only T5 and large CFL bulbs. My tent is setup to be perpetual so I never switch bulbs and harvest every 2 weeks.

Hey dude stop the butt hurt bullshit. We are saying vegging under a hps is not the best way to go and you know damn well we are right. I myself have veg under hps and have done the research as well whether you like it or not the plants want blue in veg and giving them only red/orange does not...

T5's are much more expensive than MH or CFL's and although I use one in my setup im not sure they are the best bang for the buck. For instance a 100w 2 foot T5 4 bulb is $99 while I can get a 150w mh/hps setup for $69-89 with better lumen output.

Hps is not something to not worry about it can create a lot of unwanted stretching in vegetative growth making your nodes space out unnecessarily. If you can help it you should give more blue spectrum in veg and more red when you flower otherwise you are not getting the best out of your grow.

Why hps for veg?

I normally wait until the third or forth node and top there. Once it has healed I proceed to lst in preparation for flowering.
