SpiderBall [First Time] Aerogarden Grow Journal

What's up Spider? I would always recommend topping. Not only does it keep unruly plants short and bushy, but it allows for more bud sites to be open to light, thus potentially increasing your yield. Uncle Ben's Topping Technique Take a look at this link for a good guide on topping. Also, I...

AG Deluxe $ 150 , Converting Wife's Armoire into Stealth Cabinet " Priceless " Grow

For the HPS, as long as you have proper ventilation, you'll never have to worry about too much heat. HIDs are very powerful, penetrate deeper than CFLs and are totally worth it. I have a 600W HPS I use for flowering. HUGE DIFFERENCE! Anyway, with HIDs, you don't wanna get too close because...

    Operation: Chronic Momma [1st grow]

Just a note for the siphoning... If you're not going to be cleaning your res out regularly, it would probably be a good idea to give it a good scrub before you transition into flowering. Also, always make sure growing medium is clean. Dirty mediums can cause pH fluctuation and deficiencies in...

how much affect would a street light have

I wouldn't chance it. They're are several different types of street lights, all of which will have a negative effect. Obviously, low pressure sodium street lights won't reach as far as high pressure ones, but can still do damage. You really do need to go out there at night and see exactly how...

    Aerogarden 1st grow

Definitely need to keep the pH under control. Fluctuation can cause all sorts of problems, including nutrient lockout. Stay on top of it. You could try letting your water sit out over night before hand. That will allow some of the chemicals to evaporate out, leaving you with a little more...

    Aerogarden 1st grow

We'll need to see some pics of the problem before we can make a proper diagnosis. There are so many possibilities. The fan will strengthen the stems, but if they aren't allowed time to heal, they'll eventually fall over. Nice post, Mr. Natural. =))

    Aerogarden 1st grow

So how's your situation for doing a little modification to the room? Do you live in a house or an apartment? If you live in a house, then you could run ducting into the attic and out the roof through a bathroom exhaust after buying a high output fan and carbon filter. Same could be said for...

    Operation: Chronic Momma [1st grow]

Looks good man, keep it up! Side note, during the veg period, interrupting the night period is not too detrimental. During flowering is when you should be seriously concerned with light leaks and exact light timing.

    AeroGarden Guide *NEW AND IMPROVED*

Drop by a Home Depot or Lowes and pick yourself up some "DAYLIGHT" spiral bulbs for veg. You can run these by finding a outlet-to-socket adapter and use a y-splitter to increase your quantity. Or, you can find whatever you have that will work. Be constructive, =))
