    Worm farming question

How big of a worm set-up would I have to have to make 50/lbs of worm castings in a year? I don't know much about worm farming, but a friend is doing it and I'm going to look at her setup. I'm thinking 50/lbs is the minimum I would like to use for indoor growing and back yard vegetable...

    Agricultural lime?

I have this stuff called "agricultural lime". It has Ca, Mg, and Calcium Carbonate. It's pelltized vs. dolomite lime powder/flour. Is this stuff a substitute for the dolomite lime powder/flour? Same dosage? Does it break down slower with pellets vs. powder? FWIW, this stuff is more...

Difference between indoor and outdoor flower time?

If a plant takes 10 weeks to flower indoors, how much longer will it take outdoors. I have some outdoor plants in containers that are 2 weeks into flower. I'm at the same latitude as Phoenix, AZ-32 degrees north? Just wonder how much longer I'm looking at 2 weeks? 4 weeks? BTW, these are a...

    400w vs. 600w for 4x4 tent?

I want to veg out some plants under MH in a tent for up to 8 weeks at a time. Do I need 400w or 600w? In the Cervantes book, he is saying that 400 will cover a 4x4 area well, but I am concerned that the plants might be kinda tall, not overly tall. Wondering if I need 600 to penetrate...

    Spidermites and essential plant oils.

Thanks for sharing. For indoor, spider mites hate wind, so I try to keep a fan on the plants-that and pyrethrin have worked for me. I like the idea of being able to spray some peppermint though-it's the type of thing that seems pretty innocent were you to smoke some-and it might even taste...

    Human Urine (Fertilizer)

My understanding of the human urine question (comes up on all weed forums) is that you need to dilute it maybe 10:1 or 20:1 water to urine. It has a lot of salts that can cause nutrient lockout like non-organic ferts. I saw a chart where it showed that it has just about every nutrient in it...

How do you "renew" used super soil?

I have seen a recipe for renewing used supersoil. I can't find it now-anybody know it?

    Super Soil Question

I think the recipe is intended to run for 2 months veg and then about 5 weeks into flower. I am running now with some 7 week old vegging indicas and they need nothing in the way of vegetative nutes with super soil so far. I also do some AACT/microbial teas. I am assuming I will need some...

How long does it take to see a result from AACT application?

I have some plants to which I have added AACT type teas. I'm just wondering, do they respond in, like, a week-or does it take months for the little added microbes to get busy? Sometimes my plants will have little growth surges, and I can't tell if it was rain, cooler temps, or what. These...

Compassionate Distributors in Ruidoso was good, very good.

Went to this place in Ruidoso, Compassionate Distributors. It was killer. They had like 20 strains available for sale by the gram. I came out of there with about 10 different ones. About 7 of 'em are total dank kickass, the other 3 were not as strong, but good. Staff was knowledgeable and...

Balcony Growing: Can I/should I control vegetative growth by trimming?

The super soil recipe calls for a minimum 7 gallon container. For stealth grows I like to use fast flowering strains, particularly indicas. They are shorter and you break the law for a fewer number of days. You can force flowering by putting black garbage bags over them every day for a 12/12...

    Cow manure vs Mushroom Compost

If it's cow manure from a bag in a store, I would be concerned about it having salt, which they feed the cattle. I think the shroom compost is better. Unless this is some organic micro cow situation.

    top dressing

The blood and bone meal, I think, break down more slowly than bat guano, so may not be as immediately available to the plant. Don't know about fish. I think you can do it the same way as bat guano though.

Desert Grow Is Flowering, Need Expert Advice

No idea why they are early, but they look like they are solidly in flower and they are good sized plants that should make big buds. It's a blessing disguised as an anomaly.

Cockroaches in old dry organic soil??

There's gotta be a way to get rid of them. If it was me, I wouldn't bring it right in the house. I would put it to the side outdoors, and either: 1. Get it real hot somehow in the sun. 2. Add some kinda organic pesticide to try to get rid of them: neem meal/oil, pyrethrin, diatomaceous earth?
