My theory ( which I'm sure i didn't come up with it and it's pretty commonone ) is seeds have there own biological battery..they have so much stored energy and once that energy runs out they need a recharge from lights...so when I root my seeds I feel like most of that energy is gone by leaving...

Worste effect I've seen from my method post tap root is helmet head but a little warm water and a tooth pick and the shell comes right off after 10 minutes of spraying it
