I am using prefab kit (NFT GroTank 205gti), would anyone have information on how long the pump should run in a NFT system? From what I can see it will be 24/7, but not sure if that is required while the plants are small.

Many thanks for the responses, all very helpful. I actually can't lower my light anymore without overheating the plants. I was told that this lamp has a 900w ouput, not sure on that as I can't find anything on the bulb Or ballast. Here are a couple pics of the light.

Started from seed in ROOTIT starters. Two days ago when roots were coming out the bottom of the sponge I transplanted to Grodan 3"block. Leaves have developed, but the stems are not straightening out? Any ideas?

Hey guys, thanks for the answers. Sorry in my flustered state, I did not give enough information. All I am talking about is the little piece of sponge you break off and cover the seed with. Once the seedling pops up, can you pull that little piece away. I think the best advice is to leave it...

Can anyone help me with this? I am noticing that one is bending it's stem to get around the piece of sponge. My fear is by moving the small piece of sponge, it will expose the roots.

Now that some have popped up through the sponge, do I leave the little piece of sponge where it is???? Here is a pic...............
