I have one that started with three baby leaves and was amazed when I had three first set leaves.

Will the CFL's get too hot and cause danger? The lamps are very close and some even touch. They do get very hot but am unsure. If I blow a fan directly to them will this dissipate the heat? I am running 3*30w daylight CFL and 4* 26w warm white CFL in a turkey tray in a 1.2*1.2*2.00 budbox...

Replace it with a parabolic reflector with IEC conections

No, it is a greenhouse light with ballast attached to the lamp holder with a crumby reflector.

Would I be able to run the two wires in to an IEC female instead of the E40 holder and use an upmarket reflector hood with a length of wire with no danger? Would I use a terminal strip inside the ballast to add a small length of wire to the IEC connector? It does to me seem very straight forward...

How do you diy remote ballast a greenhouse digital unit? Would it be easy? It is very similar to this "BAL-Digital-Greenhouse-Grow-Light" if you googled it.
