I have a 4 inch vortex with a can 9000 in a 3x3x5 space.I sleep in the same room as my tent and have no noise issues.One thing though with a space as small as you have, best bet will be to run the filter outside of your tent.You have very limited head room and with lighting its going to be awful...

I have all my seeds just sitting in zip locks inside a tupperware on the dresser, still germ after 8 years so I dont see a need to do anything fancy.

Dont soak or any of that crap...Either drop seed in some MOIST soil or a rapid rooter, which is wat I prefer.Leave it be! The initial bit of water is more then enough to get the seed germinated and breaking ground.Dont look at it, touch it or think about it for 5 days.
