    Open show an tell 2023

Some years I feel I'm just growing Caterpillar Chow. Little shitters hit about 10 tops just like this so far despite my weekly spraying with BT Thuricide and running a bug zapper. Dig out the dead, Find the shitters in the wounds and KILL EM ALL!!!! The little fucks are still tiny too. Not as...

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

Even spraying I'll take a bit of damage. This is a prime example of what happens when the caterpillar cuts the bud free, and the sun dries it. The Bud will tug out with almost zero effort and if I dig enough, I'll find him not far away.

Don't Know If It Is A Problem Or Not

One of the joys of getting old is I just don't give a crap about a whole lot of things. :-) The rest of it sucks.

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

2012 I harvested and carefully trimmed 5 pounds of primo buds. That first day just a few caterpillars rappelled down on silk looking for fresher juicy buds. By the next morning there were dozens of all sizes from inch long down to almost too small to be seen hanging down. By day 3 it was a...

    Need suggestions, plant hight difference.

https://www.prettypurpledoor.com/diy-self-watering-planter/ I run several of these outside as I can be gone for days or even weeks and they can go an extended period between fillings. I built mine from 17-gallon plastic party tubs and some FRP as the support plate. (Fiber reinforced plastic)...

Almost ready to harvest but heat is coming

Outside photoperiods northern hemisphere Indica and most Hybrids harvest is mid to late Oct or just before the first hard frost if applicable. Landrace Sativa stains can run out past the new year in warm climates.

    Perfume smell in my weed

Some strains are just not for some people. I grew out a strain called Lavender and it stunk like a spilled bottle of cheap lavender perfume. I couldn't even give it away. Whole 6 foot plant of unsmokable buds. Open the jar in a closed space and it was like being trapped in an elevator with...

My first grow since the 80's

If you have moths at your porch lights you have caterpillars in the buds. Heartbreak is destroying all the bud as it was infested with caterpillars and every drop of their shit form a pocket of mold that spreads and you really don't want to see what an unprotected grow can be reduced to by the...

My first grow since the 80's

The actual trigger for cannabis is 14.5. At 15 they veg and at 14 they flower. In practice only June and July have long enough days to hold cannabis in vegetative state.

My first grow since the 80's

Years of outside growing and all I really have to fight consistently is powdery mildew full time, and caterpillars starting in early August. PM can be kept in check with spraying simple high PH water once a week. 1 tablespoon of potassium or sodium bicarbonate per gallon of water will do the...

    Show us the sift

Hashmaster 5000. A 5-gallon bucket of buds and 10 pounds of dry ice and we can rock. My original 160 micron mesh had to be finally retired after 10 years and uncounted numbers of shakes as it had to many branch poked holes for my liking. The new 220 micron gives more material with a shorter...

    Relentless Powerdy mildew

I've been growing our favorite plant outside for about 50 years now. Powdery Mildew is a given in southern California. High PH water once a week will keep it well under control and is the best choice for Organic production as it is.... Wait for it...... Water. 1 tablespoon of Potassium...

She was still an active presence on another site many years ago and helped me fine tune my own work. I feel fortunate to have had her teachings.

2/3rds of an ounce of weed WASTED trying to decarb this month.

You can decarb the same 5 grams of buds if left in direct sunlight in that same metal pie tin for all day. Decarb is always a function of time over temps. 240 F for 40 minutes uncovered is just easy to remember and one of the fastest and I hate to dick around.

Southern Califonia getting hit by some liquid sunshine, how are you prepping?

I'll get to take this in the San Bernadino mountains again. Bite me. 8 feet of snow in 8 days just a few months ago and I'm still clearing and repairing from that mess. I've seen what an inch of rain per hour can do on this mountain and it isn't pretty. If we get hours of it........ We did 50...

Southern Califonia getting hit by some liquid sunshine, how are you prepping?

I'm 90 miles away from the grow filling sandbags in preparation and all I can do is pray they don't take damage. The yard they are in is well sheltered and they have big tomato cages inside.

    Outdoor topping

My grow is Southern California. By Aug 1st the days have shortened enough to trigger flower and most strains show sex by Aug 15th. 10 weeks to finish puts you mid to late Oct harvest for most indica and hybrids with landrace sativa strains running out past the first of the year. Depending on...
