I never said my soil was wet! I just notice after 2 1/2 days my plant wilts, SO instead of waiting till it actually wilts, I go ahead and water it. the point I was trying to make was, take note on how many days till your plant wilts, then water just before that happens.

i say nip it in bud, before it gets too dry. I have a plant that has always wilted and i watered and came back to life. something like 2 1/2 days and it will wilt, so I just go ahead and water after day 2.
