just by the way, when people say "soil is too hot" i think they are not referring to the temperature. They are saying that the soil has an abundance of nutrients. Hence HOT soil will give you a nutrient burn. Your temperatures are fine. Nutrients are the issue here.

I agree with what most have said - when I started growing I wanted to do hydro but my equipment supplier advised against it saying that there is "too much that can go wrong with hydro". Even now that I have a few grows under my belt I still don't feel ready to try hydro, maybe in a couple years...

soil is far too wet. Young plants only need a tiny amount of water. They might survive it's a possibility, but the first one will have stunted, slow growth because that first pair of leaves are deformed. It takes a while for a plant to recover after sth like that.

Definitely worth trying! Even if you only raise the ph by a few decimals it might mean a few more grams of weed at the end of the day. You probably won't "solve" the problem by harvest time but if you alleviate the stress, even just a little, I'm sure ur gals will reward u for it.

Yah soil will sink down once u start watering. That's normal. Sounds to me you did it perfect, a bit of tapping and shaking to make sure the pots are filled to the edges but if you make your soil TOO compact (eg. by pressing it in hard) the roots will not be able to breathe properly.

Purple/reddish stems are quite common. My Northern Lights have a similar color to yours. Do you know what strain it is? Maybe scour the internet for pics of that strain, it might be normal. Otherwise I can only guess it's a deficiency of some kind. Better wait for some proper experts opinions :)...

Is it a common practice to use distilled water? I was led to believe that tap water is better since it contains a lot of trace elements.
