Looks like light stress to me (different from heat stress). Never heard of putting a 1000w bulb 10 or 12 inches away from the plant (atlease that's what it looks like in the pic). WHEW! That's a lot of light.

150w HPS will give you great results and a cheap energy bill. I can vouch for that. However, with good venting and some pruning, you could probably pull of a 400 watt. Just don't think it would be worth it though in that tent.

Acutally, 2-600w HPS lights are more efficient than 1-1000 just because you have greater light distribution even though you're 200 watts over the thousand watt ........watt ratio light watt watt ratio watt light lamp watt watt......

400w = 400w. Doesn't matter how you look at it. The only reason why they say CFL's save you money is because the light output is higher in ratio to the energy (wattage) being used. If you have to choose between 400w HPS and 400w CFL, do the HPS! You're spending the same amount of energy...

If there's something on your plant and you can see it moving, hit it with Neem Oil every 3 or 4 days for a couple of rounds. Trust me Cage, it's the only hway.

In all the book, blogs, and mags I've read I've never heard of UV lights having an effect on growth.

That whole hand/heat rule never sat well with me. I can hold my hand pretty close to the light for a while. I never understood it.

It says that your HPS is used for veg, and the MH is used for Flower. That should be the other way around.

2 or 3 minutes under incandescents won't do anything. 2 or 3 minutes everyday just might.

18 inches is definitely going to show you some good results. I keep my thermometer directly under my light, hanging over the plants. Never heard of light effecting a thermometer.

Get your lights up off those poor things. 400 watts of light = minimum 18 inches or higher of the top of the plants. 600 watts, even more.

Save the CFL's or cloning. No way to get a pound from CFL's unless you have enough to match the same amount of money, headache and energy it would've taken for just one 400W HPS. That's my minimum. 600W is the most economical. 1000W's a little expensive for my taste with electric, heat, vert...
