are they cutting down on bugs?

i noticed some lady bugs today. i know some people use them but these were like brown im in washington i think they are motted? ladybugs. anyway im just wondering if different ladybugs can be a problem or cures and a blessing type of thing

these were in my roots. it looked like they were making an ant hill under my pots

dont people mix it with there soil for just that reason?

so i have these little brown ants going in and out of my pots what harm could they cause? also does anyone know anything i could use to keep them away till i get paid next week?

anyone know if you can substitute honey for molasses? are sugars even necessary?
