Thanks. A friend growing with HPS knows exactly how many inches the bulb is effective for, so he can make the most out of his vertical setup. I want to do the same with CFL, I guess I'll have to experiment.

Maybe your light are too intense? Clones like it dim. A 23W CFL works for me. Also, I use red (2700K) CFL because I've read roots form quicker (don't know if this is true). But too intense light killed my first attempt.

The longer time it takes to dry, the better the resulting smoke - and a lot easier to cure.

So - assuming you have no lack of growspace, are there any drawbacks to having a vertical grow? And why do most of the V-grows I see have the bulb up so high - if the point was getting light sideways from the bulb? If you find that the bulb position has to be high, then the OP's reflector seem nice.

Too short drying time IMHO. Which means it's harder to get it to taste and smell good (at least that is my experience).
