Really close to the same situation as you, just put in an AC unit and its doing great...only issue is that the temps haven't gotten above 75 outside yet. I bought an AC unit from Costco so if it doesn't work in 90 days I can return it and try again...

Sorry to be such a noob with tons of questions... Portable ACs can be used in rooms that are exhausted right? I know it will be competing with the hot air brought in from outside, through the intake fan, and also with the air being pulled out through the carbon filter. I guess my real question...

Thank you very much for all the answers...went to walmart bought two thermostats, one wireless for temps only (wireless device hanging at canopy level) and one to stay in the room to tell me temps and humidity... Seems I am running 82 at the hottest under the canopy and room stays 70-77...
