    Lights

You realise you can't just fit a hps bulb in a normal socket, right? They need a ballast to strike the arc and limit the current, and it's the ballast that costs money. It is far more cost effective to get one light setup that will light your whole area (400-600w in your case) than it is to have...

New growth has inward curling leaves?

Looks like heat stress or low humidity, possibly both. What are the high/low temps and rh?

Crap. Heat stress and not enough water.

I would guess that thai skunk is just a more heat resistant strain. What exactly were your temps that practically killed your cheese? I had 4 of them flowering last year, before I got my venting sorted out and the temps were up to 42c (107f) and went no lower than about 30c (85f) for a weekish...

question about MV lights (mercury vapour)

If the ballast says hps on it, isn't there a chance someone just replaced the bulb with a mv one at some time in the past? Mh and mv will work with an ignitor, it just reduces the lumen output and life of the bulb.

How many plants could i fit in a 2 1/2 by 3 foot area?

Always best to start more than you need, and pick the best ones rather than have to grow a weedy little runt to fill your room!

    Inline Fans INFO NEEDED

Did you not read the post where he said there was a 400w hps in that space? You vent the room every five minutes if your using fluoros, if using hid then you should have the capacity to vent the room 2-5 times a minute, so up to 200cfm, +50 for the ductwork and filter. I assume the fan he's...

question about MV lights (mercury vapour)

Buy a good hps bulb for it and it's still a good deal.

    1st grow box any ideas???

Don't blow air into the box, that will just create leaks. Blow air out and leave a hole slightly smaller than the fan as an intake, cover it with a box/flap of plastic/bent piece of ducting to keep light from getting through. Get the plant in a bigger pot, get the lights good and close (no more...

    First Grow Setup- Any ideas/Suggestions/Comments?

Looking good, let's see if we can sort your ventilation, high temperatures can slow growth and cause heat stress, which shows as the leaves curling and possibly turning yellow at the tips. It is easier to move air than it is to cool it, and I think it's the fan that is letting you down. With hid...

Question about eletricty need help today plz respond permalink

You shouldn't blow a 50 amp breaker with what you have, a 1000w light will pull less than 10a and I can't see the rest of your gear adding up to more than 30a, unless your ac is a big one. You need to add up the wattages of all your equipment, add 10% to the rating of each bulb to account for...

How many plants could i fit in a 2 1/2 by 3 foot area?

I would just top them above the fourth node (or second pair of nodes) once they get to 5-6 nodes tall and let them do their thing. For more on topping https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/151706-uncle-bens-topping-technique-get.html . You should be able to fit 4 plants in...

    Inline Fans INFO NEEDED

A four inch inlet isn't really that large, but then it depends what you're comparing it to. As for the site not having much info on ventilation, there's a whole section on it in the faq https://www.rollitup.org/view.php?pg=faq&cmd=category&id=67 which told me everything I needed to know.

CFL ling is an art form/ post your CFL pic / cfl club

Not knocking you, but you made this thread much less readable by posting fucking huge pictures that don't even nearly fit on my screen, instead of thumbnails! I think you have hit the nail on the head, cfls can produce great results, but they take a lot of work arranging them around the plants...

    white widow and the church

Run your oscillating fan 24/7, yes, to keep the air moving around the room. When you run the exhaust fan depends on what it is doing. If it is simply taking heat out of the room, and the room stays cool enough with the lights out then it can just run during the light cycle, and for half an hour...

How many plants could i fit in a 2 1/2 by 3 foot area?

If you do scrog, you'll only get one or two in that space, unless you make the screens pretty small, which kinda defeats the point of scrog, the point being to spread the plant out and get the most yield possible per plant.

    so many choices

I'd recommend cheese from greenhouse seed co. It's the best weed I've ever had the pleasure of smoking, will grow as tall or as short as you want it (approximately doubles in size during flower), and flowers in 8-9 weeks, it doesn't get a lot shorter than that. The high is kind of mixed, it's an...

    cfl lighting

7-10 per sq ft, read Roseman's post, that's a guy who knows his shit right there. You realise they are the wrong colour temperature for growing? They are right for flowering (although very low wattage) but to start with you want 6500k ideally, although 5000k does work.

    Another question about water

I'm sure fdd2blk said in one of his threads that he feeds every morning, then gives plenty of water every night, growing outdoors in cali. But as krustofskie said, every situation is different and you really have to play it by ear, water when the top two inches of soil are dry and they should be...

    Two weeks into flower (pics)

Those are some sweet buds for two weeks, are you counting from the day you switched the light cycle or from when they started showing? They will use more and more water as they increase in size, you just have to keep feeding them as much as they drink whenever the soil dries out. You're watering...
