Hey Hulk Nuts,
I've never put one together myself. I was looking for more direction from the thrads author but he never answered my question for diections on how to hook up to controller. I don't know where to begin. I just saw you question to me. No I don't check my messages. sorry for...
I could have designed it the other way but I figured that my fan would only be pulling clean air though itself helping to keep it clean and I would only have to clean the intake from the outside front of the unit. If I had configured the fan first then the filter, I would have to take the thing...
Hi OS, I'm guessing twice a year if you're running it full time. I haven't changed it yet though and it;s like a year + now and it still smells fine on the output side.
Thanks. It took longer to plan and get the parts together than it took to make the thing from scratch. You're right about the caulking. I thought of that too but wanted the ability to disassemble without any problems from caulked joints. So I used lots of screws instead (I would have...
Looking good! I don't think you'll have any problems due to the thickness of the filter cartridge but I guess that will depend on the fan you use with it.
Thanks to Cuttings2Colas, deesbarrett, hehehemann and for your comments. Also where applicable thanks for the rep. I can't see who repped me so put your sig in the rep comments folks - don't be bashful. I like to give reps back.

I got the squirrel fan on eBay. I don't know how...
I'm using a pc fan and it's doing the job with no problems so I would think the 4" fan would be more powerful than my pc fan and that it would do the job just fine thus making the 6" fan overkill.
You might get these fans cheaper at home depot when you factor in any tax and/or shipping...
Hi SB99
From what I've read you should never re-use soil because of the possible presence of pathogens, molds, misc other critters, salt build up, etc. Any of these could be an instant problem for your transplants.

Looks like it will work just fine. It may even work too good? Check the moisture content. You don't want it dry as a bone. If not dry enough you may want to swap out the rice for a fresh dry batch.
Freakin Classico dude (I like the jar) !!! :weed: :bigjoint:
Rice will dry weed out up to a point but only if the rice is dryer than the weed is to begin with.
Weed being enclosed in a chamber with rice that's in a dryer state than the weed is will soak up moisture from the weed to the point that the rice and the weed have attained an equilibium in...
Another 180 - They look clear now that I can see em better. Some are lit up from side light and look milky but the clear guys are there in number.
It looks freakin great !!! Reminds me of a picture of the strain El Nino I saw once here on RIU.
Here's pics of my trichs with 4 mp canon. What...
Go ahead and use it. I would!!! It's not going to turn into something bad in two years. Might have lost some potency but other than that you should be fine. I buy extra all the time so end up using older soil now and then with no problems.
