could someone explain what lime (ph conditioner) does

Any soil with sphagmum peat moss as the major component REQUIRES lime to buffer the soil to the correct PH (ie. PH of around 6.0). Peat moss is organic and constantly breaks down releasing acids in the process, so it tends to have a rather low PH by itself (PH of around 4.0). So if you used a...

8 weeks of veg and still not mature! Need to flower soon , space is limited HELP!!!!!

Cannabis plant maturity is based mostly on photoperiod and not growth time. A plant grown with a 18/6 lighting schedule may start to alternate nodes at 4-6 weeks, but could go months or an indefinite amount of time with opposing nodes. Once you switch the lighting period to 12/12, the nodes will...

    Fuzzy roots?

I suspect that the "root mold" you were observing was actually root hairs and Yes, they do form in a chem hydro setup. Your biggest mistake is over analysing. Rule of thumb: If the plant looks good, don't fuck with it (if it ain't broke, don't fix it). Don't obsess over travialities, if the...

    YELLOWING PLANT & good mids

Glad I could help, and glad to hear your plants are doing well. Yes, osmosis is key, remember, if the roots aren't pulling water, they aren't pulling nutes either. Looking forward to seeing the pics.

    Fuzzy roots?

You weren't, by chance, mistaking the "white fuzzy mold" for root hairs were you? The fuzzier the roots, the better when it comes to root hairs. Fuzzy roots mean massive surface area for the plant to uptake water, nutrients, and air. I'm afraid you put the nail in the coffin with the H2O2...

    YELLOWING PLANT & good mids

The over watering is precisely whats preventing the plant from getting N. So while the plant is in fact suffering from a nitrogen deficiency, it isn't from lack of N in the soil, it's from the lack of osmosis due to too much water.

So did you follow my advice? You should post some pics for an update.

help with top feed drip hydro

6 YEARS! Man, I give you credit for your sheer tenacity :) At what point do your grows go bad? Is it for the same reason everytime? Before you go any further, you need to find out why, for six years, you've been attempting to finish a grow and you can't make it to harvest.

plants drooping at odd times.. whats the cause??

Maybe that's the problem. They all look a little over watered to me. The two you're refering to are just more sensitive it seems. Try backing off the floods to 2 times a day for 5 minutes instead, and see if that helps perk them up.

    YELLOWING PLANT & good mids

Yeah, hopefully you've caught it in time. Most cannabis species evolved in fairly dry arid regions, in light well drained soils. As a result, cannabis is not very tolerant of damp, soggy conditions. When using peat based soil mixes you have to be very carefull not to over water because peat can...

    YELLOWING PLANT & good mids

To a crawl. Often times, over watered plants don't make it, the ones that do can take up to 4 weeks to recover.

    YELLOWING PLANT & good mids

Well, it's both really. When you over water, you smother the roots (they can't get any air), so osmosis slows to a crawl and the plant begins loosing turgor pressure, which is a fancy way of saying, the plant begins to droop. Once osmosis is slowed enough, the plant can't get sufficient...

Leaves Dieing Off in 1 Day?!?!

There's your problem. Please check out Uncle Ben's thread on "The never ending abuse of phosphorus in flowering". When you feed with high phosphorus fertilizers, you upset the balance of nutrients in solution, I've seen it happen a million times on this forum. A high phosphorus fertilizer...

dont have ph down what can i use

Absolutely! It's cheap and it works well. It's just sulfuric acid mixed with water, that's all. No different than nitric acid or phosphoric acid in terms of being a usefull PH down for plants. In fact, sulfuric acid and nitric acid are stronger (therefore more effective) acids than phosphoric...

dont have ph down what can i use

Battery acid (sulfuric acid) is a really good PH down, it's cheap and it is readily available at just about any auto parts store in the world. Just ask the auto parts clerk for "electrolyte" for refilling an old battery. It's around 35% sulfuric acid with the remaining being distilled water. Be...

    ebb and flow reservoir size

By that same equation, you can figure out how much hydroton you'll need as well. You've got 20l of hydroton and to fill your tray to 4" height is 23.7 liters of volume. So you should be able to fill your tray to around 3.5" with hydroton, that should be plenty. You could also fill up pots and do...

    ebb and flow reservoir size

I hope that's stainless steel you're talking about, otherwise you're going to need a plastic liner of some sort. The nutrient salts will react with regular steel, and cause it to corrode and rust. Not only that but your nutrient mix will get all messed up because of all the ions bonding with the...
