I would use those 4 as mothers and just do a full SOG and make use of every CM of that grow space. The yield from 4 plants squished into a 4x2 is gonna be bad compared to a 4x2 SOG.

Just go to local nursery and ask for a bale of soilless mix. Costs around ~$25

I usually see an explosion of growth @ week 3 and the swelling you speak of at week 9. its like right when i think the buds wont grow anymore... they mutate.

heres what ur gonna do. go buy a 3 gallon pot and some soilless mix. combine and give it as many cfl's lights as you can for 2 months. it'll come back strong and you'l be able to flower under a hps.
