Bag o' Schwag, first grow, closet CFL setup

Test it out! Get a casserole dish or something like that and put some water in the bottom, then set a couple of cups in it. You won't drown it; just use an inch or two and keep an eye on them to see how they do for a few days.

    Freebie Seeds****from the doc

One of the breeders over at Docs site turned those in..the freebies are better than the original strain you ordered, I'll bet ;) The guy knows how to pick good parent plants!

Back to soil for a while

Here's my first foray into hydro; the passive hydro (Hempy) is on the left and the soil is on the right, It's been topped and given me 3 clones:female. I've seen a lot of people grow well with Hempys so I guess it's just not my thing!

Success at growing in the subburbs?

Plant in different places...a few miles apart, that way you have a fallback option. As far as in the woods close to you, look for the place that is the hardest to get to and plant best in the spot for sunlight and security. It's usually kids going through those woods, they tend to stick to...

It'll all work out, Glory...if anything you'll walk away from this with a bit of knowledge! My first grow as a nightmare and that was in Miracle Grow too. I freaked out, overwatered, messed with the ph and did about every noob mistake under the sun. Second grow is better, but I switched to...

Back to soil for a while

Don't feel bad, man...I can't do shit in Hydro either! I have 5 Hempy buckets and one in soil; the Hempys look like their about to take a shit on me and the one in cheap Miracle Grow soil is thriving. Some people just aren't meant for hydro, my friend :)
  9. Muddy Paws

Bag o' Schwag, first grow, closet CFL setup

No problem, Glory! Glad I can help a lil bit. I'd wait to switch the lighting around til you get back, just in case there's a problem. If your friend can come by at the halfway point of next week, you'll be fine. Just have him put some water in the reservoir with the plants and they'll be able...

Bag o' Schwag, first grow, closet CFL setup

Hey, Sorry I'm late, Glory :P They look fine, man. They're "reaching" from what it looks like and that means they're okay...I've never seen them do it like that this early on, but they may just be "content". 8 days out of town? Only thing I can think of is to put them in a tray with water in...

Oh, okay...i see what blanket you mean. Give them a good drink of water and if they don't bounce back, we'll figure it may be a heat issue but here hasn't seemed to have been a problem with that before. I also shouldn't say it gets harder to grow; it really doesn't, especially with Miracle...

Bag o' Schwag, first grow, closet CFL setup

Good morning, Glory :) What blanket are you referring to? You can give them a good drink today, mate. The roots are probably into the bottom of the cup so give it a good drink (no nutrients!) til the water runs out the bottom; check your runoff PH with this water so you know what you'll...

Not sure what that white stuff is, it looks like a clean piece of Perlite. I'd pull it out just to be on the safe side. Lookin good, Glory; don't mess with em too much!

in second week o)f flowering-male or not

Looks like male so far, but every calyx is different, so give it a few days to see if it puts out any pistils. Good luck :)

    Miracle grow,rust spots, curling

S.Dog, you can use Miracle Grow with no additional nutrients all the way through flowering. This NYCD flowered all the way through the 5th week with no additional nutes; it got crystals at 3 weeks. If you are using tapwater, let it sit out for a few days so all the chlorine will evaporate...

Bag o' Schwag, first grow, closet CFL setup

Hi Glory! Superthrive is basically a root stimulator, not a nutrient; use it only during veg times. PH your water down to 7.0 before you apply it; the soil should adjust it down to 6.4-6.6; this is a good range for your PH. Do a PH test on your runoff soil; this will tell you what your...

Wispy buds. Can I snip 'em off?

If you are growing in soil the PH of your runoff water should be 6.5. If it's lower than 6.5 in the runoff, raise the level of the water you put in until your runoff is 6.5. You could also get a bag of gardening lime (the powdered kind, not pellets) and add 1/4 teaspoon to each gallon of...

Bag o' Schwag, first grow, closet CFL setup

If you're using tap water, let it sit out for a day or two...this will let the chlorine and other stuff evaporate. Measure the PH in your runoff water and adjust from there, the nutrients in the soil will lower your PH about 3.0-4.0 points. If you PH the water first, just get it around 7.0...
