Breaking the dry and cure down for the new dude on the block :-)

Its sad that the "perfect cure" thread is stickied and this is lost somewhere. If you internalize this information about drying it's everything you need to know (minus the experience). Forget everything else. Wet buds in a jar is a recipe for disaster, not just from mold but pure degradation.

    Efficiency of Samsung LM561C diodes?

8w/ft of strip needs no cooling. In europe it's cheaper to run strips softer because everything is usually in increments of 50cm, i.e., just too short or too long. You'll have to order custom sizes or waste material due to the fact that all the strips come in feet, because, as we all know, the...

    Reflective material a must?

Oh right on, I thought the bottom was wood painted white. Thanks!

    Reflective material a must?

Thank you so much for posting these pictures. this hit me like a bat in the head and I finally know how to make my final drainage system. Your room is getting beautiful BTW edit: I may have missed this, but are you going to put pond liner in there or somethign? I would guess not. but I'm...

    Small Lights too close?

What in tarnation happened here my dude!? A Lux meter is ~$20. edit: it's just the most surprising approach ever. it looks like bringing a plant into this tepee introduces more problems than the original situation, which maybe or probably wasn't even that problematic? I won't lie, I burst out...

Mars Hydro TS 1000, the best budget LED available today?

If you just want to buy a simple solution for 2x2 then this is a great option. Well, without specs of the diodes and how hard they are run its hard to say. I bet they run pretty hard and one can expect failures after/within a year. It all depends on your goals, level of autism and location...

80 vs 90 CRI... Convince me

You probably have found it by now, but I will put it here for those who are wondering: The PPFDs were not the same, the plants receiving subcanopy lighting in this experiment received ~95µmol/s more than the control group (~500 µmol from the top). It is postulated by the authors that this...

80 vs 90 CRI... Convince me

Ah yes, I have read these hehe. Many growers haven't been in academics and without some experience and discipline it can be daunting to read some of these articles. Spectrum is interesting, but what I find even more interesting is this sub canopy lighting. This can be achieved easily and sounds...

80 vs 90 CRI... Convince me

Why not post it straight away, thanks, this is a real interesting article!! Here is the link (Improving Cannabis Bud Quality and Yield with Subcanopy Lighting, DOI: 10.21273/HORTSCI13173-18) What's great is that they used upward facing strips, 15cm away from the stem. this is a type of lighting...

HLG vs HGL Side By Side

RE: leaf size - Just because a leaf is bigger does not necessarily mean there is more photosynthesis taking place. Similarly, plants that are bigger in size due to differences in light quality do not necessarily have increased dry weight. I can't be bothered to find sources, but reading a...

The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

Damn, I am postponing stuff because I'm waiting on these. It's been a real test of patience.

Quantum board electrical question (uk based)

Don't halve currents. With Meanwell HLG drivers it does not matter. The DC output voltage and amperage specified in the data sheet is what you get.

HLG vs HGL Side By Side

It's just funny; if leds caused nutrient deficiencies it would be mentioned in every light quality experiment paper.

Mars Hydro 300 to eco Vero29?

Yeah you can use the heatsink and fan. I know the type of heatsink that is in the Mars lights. It's a piece of shit, but the 120mm fan getting its normal power will absolutely cool 50w on it I was gonna hack one of these lights too, and the way I see it, if you're gonna use their dogshit cheap...

HLG vs HGL Side By Side

Spoken like a true shill. No offense but the way this is all written and presented is enough for me to form my final opinion. All yall are never gonna tell the truth. Almost everybody in on this is somehow in cahoots with his person who calls himself Cammie. Just my opinion.

    Quantum Boards Grow

Awesome thread, really inspiring. I think this makes getting a good result so much easier than trying to do the same thing horizontally. (scrogging for little larf) Seems like it will work nicely with standing oscillating fans... as opposed to the hassle of a horizontal canopy

The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

edit: so, it would be interesting to compare the YPF to PPF ratio of 90cri to 80. Instead of seeing lm/w and whatever. HPS has the highest YPF: PPF, 0.95, warm white leds are about 0.91 (data from 2014; I think the phosphor coated white spectrum has not changed, the efficacy has of course) (Source)

    Thermal adhesive tape?

There are definitely holes to put screws through on rigid strips. Can't speak of tape, but the thermal adhesive I have is so strong that nothing comes off without breaking. I prefer screws.

The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

Lol, now there is a price point that's hard to argue with. But let's not forget there are other manufacturers in the market who are making good drivers too. Inventronics for example. I'm always browsing Mean well but that's doing the others a disservice... For example Inventronics 600w is...
