    Hydro vs Soil

Agree 100% Foxfarm is the best for beginners. Pretty much guaranteed results with a decent finished product, First time Hydro... Flora Duo from GH is pretty damn easy to use but the initial cost of equipment makes it tough. Soil is cheap and easy. I sell Foxfarm soil at my store for $12 a bag...

    hydro in soil

Yes, you can use felt pots in an ebb and flow or a drip system and fill them with soil(less) medium. The lines nowadays are pretty blurred. I run coco and sunshine #4 in multiple ebb and flow systems using felt pots. http://www.geopot.com/

    Cutting fan leaves

I prune secondary and tertiary shoots on all lower and mid branches right when I switch the lights down to 12/12. I leave fans intact. and just remove the shoots. This focuses the plants flowering energy on main stem colas and keeps the big solar panels on to produce energy. I also clean up the...

    Sweeteners?

Main benefit of sweeteners is feeding beneficial organisms in your medium. If your trying to get your bud to taste like berries then your going to be sadly disappointed. If your running a sterile DWC or hydro set-up with H2o2, it's a waste of money, there are no beneficial organisms in your...

any reason i shouldn't use galvanized chickenwire fencing for SCROG?

Galvanized metal is zinc coated. I don't know about in horticulture but they tell you not to use it when making BBQ grills. Supposedly the zinc comes off and the vapor is bad. Don't think it would hurt your plants though since the temp is nowhere near the temp in a BBQ.

    Please help my little girls!!

Looks like too much water mate. Cotyledons (very first leaves) will yellow, that is normal. Droopy leaves is either too much water or beginning of N toxicity. Also Ocean Forrest can be a little too hot for seedlings and new clones. You can cut the Ocean Forest with with a totally inert medium...

    still too hot

They can be bought on the cheap, used, off of Craigslist. Just make sure you get one with enough BTU's to handle your lights. A 1000W HPS gives off about 3500 BTU's of heat. Also take into account that older used A/C's are probably not running at 100% efficiency. If you vent your lights then...

Any Existing Evidence that Clones upon Clones Degrade Yield or Quality?

This is what I do as well. Longest I have kept a single Mom was 9 months. By then she was too big to really do anything with inside. Cuttings from the 9 month old mom were just as good as the original. I had a cut only strain for several years. It wasn't much of producer but it was 1 hit and...

Van de Zwaan House & Garden Aqua Flakes.. Anyone Tried Em?

I run H&G Coco's in an ebb and flow coco set-up with Geo Pots. The stuff rocks. I do supplement with a little Cal-Mag (1/2 strength 5 ml / gal) just to be on the safe side and I also inoculate with Mykos and Azos (veg only) from Extreme Gardening. My plants look like space cabbage. I've never...

    T H Seeds Burmese Kush

In my opinion this strain isn't genetically stable. I started seeds purchased from THSeeds and every start looked completely different. Seriously. None of the plants look remotely the same. All are on the same nutrient regimen and all environmental conditions are identical, same medium water...

    Humboldt Nutrients Organic Line

1/4 tsp Epsom salts dissolved in a glass of warm water per gallon at 2nd week of flowering and 5th week and you shouldn't have any Mag issues. Epsom salt can be purchased at any drugstore for 5 dollars. Just make sure the label says 100% magnesium sulfate. This will also add a little sulphur to...

    White Widow Specifics

Yeah she's picky depending on which phenotype you got. I will say this, start your nutrients at a maximum of half strength and only up the dosage in small increments over time. Also flush your system or soil out very regularly. I have a grip of this going right now and I burnt the piss out of...
