Do you think it would work? I am planing on growing 1 plant outdoors, in washinton state. the plant the seeds came from are from washington, but i dont know if they were grown indoor or outdoor. do you think it would work?

I just germinated my seeds and am about to plant them, problem is i dont know how deep i should put the seeds. would 1/2" work? and how far should i keep my florecent 40w bulb from the soil as i have just planted the seeds? after it starts growing?
