    Ants

I use vinegar to keep most pests away.

    Help me please thanks

I run clean water for at least a week before I cut. I starve them bitches like Buffalo Bill getting ready to make himself a dress. You are finding 2 days in the dark does it for you? I'm going to have to look more into this 48 hours of darkness thing. I suppose 2 days isn't much to try and see..

    Help me please thanks

Interesting. If I were to do this, I'd leave the bubbles and water running. The plants should already be in nutrient free water by this time, is it really necessary to flush them again?

    Help me please thanks

This is the first time I've ever heard of putting it in the dark 48 hours before cutting it. What does that get you? When mine are done with the nutrient flush and everything looks good, I just cut and trim.. hang to dry.. then cure.

Confused as hell...will wall recepticle operate 1000w hps on 100%

He said he has a digital ballast. Most every one I've seen will take any voltage you are likely to find. Any time you have a flow of electricity, you will have 2 additional things. Heat, and an electromagnetic field. A warm conductor under a heavy amp load is perfectly normal. A conductor...

His total amp draw going to the room would be double on 110V, not the same. I say anything pulling a kilowatt or more should be 220V. Less heat in the conductor.. you can use a smaller gauge wire.. The advantages are many. You can pull 110V off the panel too.. I thought 12/2 wire meant...

Small hydro box set up - too much wattage?

If my math is right, that sounds ok to me. With such a long, narrow grow area, 2 400W lamps would be better than a single 1KW IMO

    24/0 isn't natural?

I've ran 24/0 vegging with great success. Perhaps others with less success are unable to keep up with the demands of the plant? Things like heat become a much harder issue to deal with.

anyone know how to pass a DT

Sort of using somebody else's sample, yes, your best bet is to dilute or contaminate it and hope they get tired of asking you to retest. About the only advise I can really give you is to not sweat a lot before the test like an above post mentioned. These particular compounds stay in your fat...

    I got paitents 4 You

Just.. horrible. This is the most insane plan I've ever heard. I hate to break it to you, but there were growers LONG before there were legal MMJ patients.

    Plasma Lighting

Bump! I would love to hear about this, too.. I'm really interested due to the intensity combined with the lack of heat. A guy at my hydro store said a rep from this company told him to use it in addition to normal HID lighting. He said the rep never really gave him a straight answer as to if...

Experienced Electrician! Here to Answer Any and All Growroom Electrical Questions

I would properly feed a 220V sub panel and remove/save the 2 wire romex for some other project. I know it sucks to install but you'll be way happier in the end, especially if you plan on using that room for a while. Now, you /do/ already have 4 12 gauge wires ran.. you could run a single 220V...

    Correct Carbon Filter/fan

I don't like to exhaust cool air either. I have cage fan mounted directly to a carbon filter that just sits in the room during flowering pulling air through the filter and blowing it straight back into the room. There is a good DIY filter, or buy the biggest one you can afford. It cuts the...

1000w MH. Is it TOO much?

I worry more about heat than anything. As far as the rest of your concerns, sounds to me like a light meter would make you really happy.

    Nextgen 400/600w ballast??

For what it's worth, I have a 1000W nextgen and I like it a lot. My particular model had a reported weakness in the cooling fan, but overall a great ballast. My 5 year warranty is probably now expired and still no trouble.

First Time Grower - Results Discussion and Seeking Guru Comments

Most excellent! That looks like a very clean setup! I can appreciate the work you've put into it. One thing I noticed right off the bat was that particular A/C unit will vent unfiltered grow room air out of the exhaust. The air intake is at the bottom of the unit and a fan blows air up to...

You should really look into a permanent installation to move that much power. Extension cords are ok for temporary measures, but are far from 'the right tool for the job'. It's too long, you can trip on it, it might have nicks already in the insulation and the conductor, etc etc..

Confused as hell...will wall recepticle operate 1000w hps on 100%

Good choice going 220. I prefer 220 for larger loads like A/C and lighting. Electricians are expensive, hopefully your friend cuts you a break. I ran my own lines and it cost me maybe 150 bucks in materials to run 75' away after all was said and done. Took me a good 4 hours to complete. A...

My Sensi Bloom part B has ooze in it

Ok, I'll just work with it and filter it out of the solution I mixed. I did shake it quite well when I measured it out. Some kind of cap scum or something I suppose. It appears to do what it says so far. Thanks!

My Sensi Bloom part B has ooze in it

I've never used any of Advanced Nutrients' stuff before.. I have their pH Perfect Sensi Bloom A+B and a 6 bucket + res DWC setup running 15-20 gallons total. Is a bit of floating slimy/sludgy stuff normal for this particular 2 part bloom base or should I trade it for a new bottle? It was...
