The LEAVES have nutrients in them!! when the plant cannot take nutrients from the roots the leaves provide what they can, this is why it can help foliar spraying clones with a light rhizo fert because they take in the nutrients and this helps produce roots.

So if roots are the only way for a plant to get food please explain the few weeks after cutting a clone, it doesn't have roots and survives. They even grow slightly during this rooting period. So I believe you are the bitch
