I am also in the process of building one also. (battery for drill is charging so im on here right now). I never thought of the dynamat. Good idea. I was gonna use white paint I can get from my work. I am trying to get as many things for free from there as possible. But I like the dynamat idea!

As far as I know the hay smell is the chloryphl (not spelled right). I would put it in the jar to cure if dry.
