Iv only had a cheap bulb i got from homedepot blow from power going on and off my hortilux has been through plenty of surges and power outs and seems fine i think cheap bulbs blow easy and so it prolly became common pratice to let the gases cool before exciting them again

Ya with canna and alot of other nute brands for coco that's pritty much how their A+B work, dont mix them directly together they become insoluble if you do. But sounds like you know that. They got a decent feeding chart on their website its a good guide line on how much to start with
