Color looks good. Damn, that landscape looks arid AF. Gotta be brutal at like 2 in the afternoon on a calm day.

yeah i've been bracing for a sudden shift to drought mode but so far staying pretty wet here. instead of 6-8 weeks of zero rain about 1" gentle rain once a week with sun in between?

@thumper60 "Dry week?" Did you get that dump last night? We've had some sun too but things are still pretty damp. Looks like your plant is wanting to flower pretty soon: And here's the 2 Northern Lights and Pine Tree Kush (pistils just starting to show on the NL now):

Looks like a girl but not actually seeing any pistils yet. Any week now. Those thunderstorms hit you good today? We got a couple good downpours, including about 15-20 minutes of absolute buckets. Ground couldn't absorb it fast enough. Brook is up but not over the banks. Only got 1-1/2" in the...

Hope everyone's having a good summer so far. Think I'm back on track here with everything after letting some of those fabric pots get too dry--was thinking they were waterlogged from all the rain and had root issues but got it figured out finally. Think we're in good shape now heading into...

fabric pots got saturated--trying to nurse them back to health--tips?

Update: I think I may be back on track here, and just in time for flowering, too. Phew! To overcome the hydrophobic medium I put the fabric pots in a container and then watered each with 3g water with aloe vera, any runoff got collected in the bigger container and soaked back into the fabric pot...

fabric pots got saturated--trying to nurse them back to health--tips?

I cut out that stem with the dead section and inspected. Doesn't appear to be hollow, just the tissue died there. It's happening in a few of the leaves too. I removed all of it and have quarantined the plant. Can't see any sign of borers, although I've only seen borer damage in pictures, no...

fabric pots got saturated--trying to nurse them back to health--tips?

Not sure--guessing root issue, maybe gnat larvae gnawing on roots? root rot? have quarantined that plant, will cut out rot, see if she rallies. It's a new hemp cultivar I'm trying out but I have another couple in case she goes south.

fabric pots got saturated--trying to nurse them back to health--tips?

Not seeing anything but good suggestion. After watering I did the finger test for soil moisture and it seems like the medium may have gone hydrophobic on me...seems bone dry 2-3 inches down. I added some aloe vera as a surfactant and hit them again with more water, slowly in stages. The really...

fabric pots got saturated--trying to nurse them back to health--tips?

Update: found some necrosis in the stem and some leaves in one of the plants, guessing this is from a root issue. Overall plant not looking terrible but it's clearly compromised: Here's the whole plant: I did a light perimeter watering on all of them and after the worst wilter didn't seem to...

fabric pots got saturated--trying to nurse them back to health--tips?

Will try to keep them elevated with air circulation beneath. Thought about transplanting but decided against--no extra pots for one. Tomorrow at dawn I'll try some judicious watering and see if that helps.

fabric pots got saturated--trying to nurse them back to health--tips?

Yes, in warm sunny weather, especially with dry air and/or breeze, every 2-3 days is about right. I give them a good soaking normally, usually a 2-3 gallons to really soak the entire root zone. If it's really hot it could be daily. I suspect the roots are compromised and so they're not able to...

fabric pots got saturated--trying to nurse them back to health--tips?

Underwatering? Wouldn't the pots be light in weight if that were the case? These were all completely saturated 2 weeks ago. Read the caption above that last photo.

fabric pots got saturated--trying to nurse them back to health--tips?

I have several 10g fabric pots outside vegging and we had a 3-week stretch in June with lots of rain, drizzle, and fog. When I realized they were wicking moisture up from the wet ground I moved them onto a covered porch so they could dry out (they were saturated). Soil is Coast of Maine's...

Back to the rain, drizzle, fog, and now stifling humidity. Supposed to get a short break this coming week then right back into the wash cycle. Very weird summer so far. Good thing this isn't flower season, everything would be pretty much toast. Got the Pine Tar and Northern Lights under cover...

Maybe delay that afternoon watering a few hours so you're not hitting them with a bunch of cold water in the heat of the day? Plus a bunch probably just evaporates in those conditions. A healthy plant should be able to get through a hot day with a good dawn soaking. Just an idea if you're...

Agree that a thick mulch layer should help. They get a deep water early in the a.m.? I would soak them good before the sun rises then if necessary a late afternoon/early evening refresh. Consider adding a little potassium silicate to their water too, supposedly helps with drought/heat stress.

About a week and a half ago I moved my fabric pots under cover during any wet weather as the constant fog and rain was keeping them saturated and I was worried about root rot. Looks like I may have been too late on on the Pine Tar--pot is still a bit heavy and I'm noticing some droopy leaves...
