Yeah i had my lumateks for over a year before i ran into trouble. I heard only good things before i purchased them, then after the fuse blew i started hearing about all the other gardeners out there having the same problem. Even the lumatek rep that i talked to told me it's a common problem...
I'm not trying to tell you what to do man, you grow how you grow. I'm a firm believer in if it aint broke don't fix it. I'm glad your set up works for you. I just had a simple problem with a digi ballast that turned out to be more of a hassle than i care to deal with. therefore i'm against...
oh yeah i cut off the under growth too. I thought the OP was saying why do guys take 'all' fan leaves off. I grow mine quite large, and the lower growth ends up dying, so i like to focus growth on the top two feet or so of each plant. I'm def not pullin off all the fan leaves though.
Matt rize has a video on you tube, but you don't really need it. All you need is a juicer, put the leaves in that and out comes your juice. or you can blend and strain them, it's a pain in the ass. but still worth the effort.
dimming ballasts are just a gimmick, your plants don't benefit from it, you're just damaging your bulbs. Cannabis grows under the sun from seedling to budding bush so they can handle any damn wattage indoors, at any time.
you could juice the leaves if you like. The juice is very healthy to drink, full of vitamins and supposedly is a cancer deterrent. It won't give you a psycoactive effect, but it is good for you.
i agree, looks like an over-fertilization issue. did you turn you fan off for the film? If you put a pair of sunglasses over the camera lens, it won't strobe like that, might be easier to diagnose that way.
I know a guy that does this every grow, he swears up and down that it gets more light to the buds, which it does. But then he is always dumbfounded as to why he only yields 2 zips per plant.... hmmm
wow lots of negativity here. Got to expect it these days. Your lighting set up will work fine. get your light as close to the plants as possible without heat becoming and issue. Just use your hand as a guide. Plants can benefit from a blue spectrum in all stages of growth, the red is more for...
