How many watts can a standard light socket support?

those lamp holders are rated at 125 - 660 watts, so pulling 400watts is dangerous imo... That cheap adapter may not be able to handle the load being passed through it over time and will possibly melt down and arc, hopefully just blowing the breaker and not burning your house down or killing you...

Fan leaves shrivled up 15 mins after adding new lighting.

The misting is probably what did it, usually you can mist without a problem but since you misted at the same time you added more intense lighting it most likely burned the leaves.. cant turn back now, just let them grow and monitor the new growth for problems. Dont cut anything off of the plant...

Fan leaves shrivled up 15 mins after adding new lighting.

Size and age of the plants will help, but yeah it sounds like they were unable to handle the increase in intensity..

    Who monitors humidity?

I'd say mostly luck... your water source must be close to 5.8 ph and your humidity levels probably fall in the safe zone... I way off PH will be devastating to a plant it can lock up nutrients in the form of un-dissolvable salts and compounds, some of which are actually toxic to the plants.

    Who monitors humidity?

i'd bet 90% of RIU members monitor the humidity in their grow rooms. you can get a cheap hygrometer from home depot for about 3 bux. You need more exhaust imo, you can always use the damp rid containers that absorb moisture...

Fox Farm Nutrients Sitting on Bottom

Right now the water is about 2-3 inches below the bottom of the basket. We had it just above the basket while it was a seedling but as soon as the roots started coming through we started lowering the water level. When we kept it high we noticed alot of roots were getting soft and breaking...

Smoking A Joint Is The Same As Leaving A 100-Watt Light Bulb On For 17 hours??? haha

This has to be Bullshit! Smoking a joint is the same as leaving a 100-watt light bulb on for 17 hours, according to his calculations. A kilo of pot is supposedly the same as driving across the country five times in a car getting 44 miles per gallon...
