Best Fill and Drain Timing Cycles for Ebb and Flow?

This information is assuming expanded clay is the medium. The sites should fill as fast as possible and the total irrigation should be 15-20 minutes. So time how long it takes to drain. For instance, my old ebb and flow table would drain in 6 minutes. So I let the pump run for 9 minutes. I...

    Why Grow with Hydro?

I don't have personal experience with coco, but the main properties of hydro are still present. It's still a sterile medium, with hydroponics grade nutrients, and an ideal mixture for fast uptake. Personally, I don't think you'd see maximum growth compared to other methods, but I have no sources...

    Soil, Aeroponics, Hydroponics?

Anybody who thinks soil is easy hasn't carried 200 pounds of it up 3 flights of stairs only to go right around and carry it out again in 8 weeks. Oh right, that means I need 200 more pounds of dirt. The root aphids come free!

How Inorganic Is A Commercial Grow?

Commercial growers of pot don't put any more additives than commercial growers of tobacco. I don't see how this is any different.

let tap water sit overnight or not? Is there a big difference/necessary?

Anecdotal evidence from me says municipal tap water is just fine right out of the tap. If you're using a recirculating reservoir anyway, all the chlorine that can evaporate is gone by the next day. I personally feel like the chlorine helps with pathogen control.

    Do clones stretch like seeds?

Thanks for the reassurance, pimp. I respect your knowledge in the matter. Guess I will just wait and see what the harvest looks like

    Do clones stretch like seeds?

I count flowering from the first showing of sex. This usually takes 7 days. Yes, the mother plants were mature. They vegged for 16 weeks. So these clones won't produce as much as from seed?

    Do clones stretch like seeds?

Title basically says it all. I grew seeds of violator kush and had a vigorous pre-flower stretch in the first two weeks. I took clones from the vegging seedlings and currently have them in the flower room. They are 14 days into flower, 21 days of 12-12. I'm not seeing the same kind of growth as...

    Question regarding growth rates.

Hey panhead, not to be too far off topic, but you can't post pictures on this web site with an iPad. I really hope you could bring that up with the developers of this website! The problem seems to be the uploading page where you need to click, hold, and scroll through the options. Since an iPad...

Can the tops of the root dry out while the bottoms are wet?

The top of the root system doesn't need to be in water at all. In fact, it's better that way

i have no idea whats wrong with my plants or how to help them!

Your water should not be brown like that. Basically, you need to lower your reservoir temps to 65-68 degrees and add h2o2 every 3 days.

    It's A Fuct World

My ph ranges from 5.8 to 6.1, I check it every 2-3 days and that's how much it fluctuates. Usually I'll top off with 3 gallons of tap water and it takes 15ml of ph down to get back to 5.8. Again this is about a 40-42 gallon res.

    It's A Fuct World

Thanks for the response trichome. I thought the clawing of the leaves was a sign of over fertilization. Cuz your plants looked just like a couple of mine.

    It's A Fuct World

Trichrome, I notice you have some nitrogen toxicity in your latest pics and I'm curious to know a solution as I have had the same problems. I use botanicare cns 2 part nutrient formula. The directions recommend a 50-50 mix of veg and flower nutes during the transition. I recirculate my reservoir...

    Why Grow with Hydro?

Most drip systems are drain to waste. Meaning you don't have a recirculating reservoir. The system you're talking about most certainly is a form of hydroponics. First of all, why would the pots be off the ground? In coco, most growers treat it like soil by using 1-2 gallon pots and simply...
