Once my roots reach the reservoir, I no longer use the drip. I let the bubbles and bubbling water feed the roots, no drip up top necessary...hope that helps

Lower the water some, it doesn't need to be that high, the water in my buckets is about 2 inches below the netcups. They get oxygenated water and the roots above the water take in oxygen. I would really drain some of that out. my opinion
