Are the lights on the aerogarden enough?

Marley: if those Mylar reflectors are properly aimed you can get buds all the way down to the planting deck. Sebastian in Northern California and I experimented with them a couple of years ago and came up with the same results. Extra lighting usually means extra cords, the cost of extra...

    How would these do?

Bleezyboy: so far that hasn't been a problem. The manufacturer's or both of my fixtures, (different brands), recommend a height of 6" to 1' off the tops of my plants but using the back of the hand method I have adjusted them to as little a a couple of inches off the tops of my plants without a...

Are the lights on the aerogarden enough?

Marley: if you're going to be an Aerogardener, don't start messing with it. It's a compact, complete, self contained table top growing system designed to grow culinary herbs and veggies but you can grow weed in it but if you know what you're doing. 1. You're limited to growing: one, two or...

    2nd grow update, advice welcome!!

Bluejunta: please tell us about your 'smart pots." I got turned on to Eco Pots, and I'm happy with those, but always on the look out for a better mouse trap. HSA

    How would these do?

Bleezyboy: Let me start out by admitting that I'm a T-5 fan. I grow meds only for my self in a 2' by 4' tent and I use T-5's from seed sprouting all the way to harvest. Just make sure that you buy a big enough fixture to completely cover your grow, and that's very important. T-5's burn cool...

Second Grow. WW bagseed & Big Bud Auto (everyone welcome)

Brettsog: How prepared were you for your first grow? Some people don't learn from the past and tend to repeat their mistakes. I wish there was an easier way, but from some of what you said I might suggest the following: 1. For dirt, read: SeeMoreBud’s book, “MARIJUANA BUDS FOR LESS-...

Is this a good aerogarden setup? And questions

Marley: I'm not familiar with that strain. If we're talking about a small strain then you should be fine. I grew two unknowns I picked out of a joint in 1984 and kept going to now. One is a Sativa and the other is a little Indica. In my A/G's I keep the Sativa to a height of 22 inches but in my...

Is this a good aerogarden setup? And questions

Marly: the side lighting will cost you more to run. One of the advantages of the A/G is that it's economical to operate. Have you considered some Mylar covered 'aimed' reflectors? Three will usually do the job; one behind your A/G, and one on each side. One guy I know puts up four but he admits...

Advice wanted and needed from the experienced

Deftoned: anyone's first grow is a potential disaster waiting to happen. I wish there was an easier way, but from what you ask, I think you might be new enough to this for me to suggest the following: 1. Read: SeeMoreBud’s book, “MARIJUANA BUDS FOR LESS- GROW 8 OZ. OF BUDS FOR LESS...

    Odor control?

Yukon: some of those ozone generators are dangerous around us oxygen breathing people. Have you thought about a fan and a carbon filter? I invested in a Can Fan and an Elf Charcoal Filter and it keeps the smell of my six plants down to zero. You just need one big enough to turn over the air in...

Is flowering under 200W worth it?

Vindicated: here's a simple formula I was given at school: at least 5,000+K's green to blue to grow and veg with a red 2,700K to flower. Some growers I know veg in 6,000K and 6,500K but it seems to be more a matter of choice. The 2,700K seems to be pretty firm on flowering. I hope that helps. HSA

    CFL's and Their Lifespan

Backwoods: here's my two cents worth: That 2700K lamp would be great for flowering but you'd need a lamp in the range of 5,000 to 6,500K's for vegging. Aerogarden recommends you change their proprietary bulbs every six months and the makers of my two different brands of T-5 fixtures both say to...

3 Weeks Into Flowering w/ NO BUDS in Aerogarden!!!

Willin: I found flowering in an A/G to be a challenge because you're limited to what you can do. They're great to start seeds with but even difficult to veg with unless you keep it down to two small plants from really small strains. 1. Have you changed your nutes? You need less N and more P and...

Smokeajoe: That's adequately covered in the following resources: I wish there was an easier way, but from what you ask, I think you might be new to this so I’d suggest the following: 1. Read: SeeMoreBud’s book, “MARIJUANA BUDS FOR LESS- GROW 8 OZ. OF BUDS FOR LESS THAN...

CFL Grow Question - Would 12 42W 2700K be enough CFL for flowering 2-3 plants?

Jixan: you've got the right light color/frequency for flowering but a dozen lights makes for a very busy hookup. Have you considered the simplicity of a single 4' long 4 tube T-5 fixture? You have the same light coming off of a single cord. I like neat and simple and it's working for my three...

Air pump quick question. help plz

Missnu: Hydro is serious business. You have to know what you're doing or all you'll get out of it is frustration. In hydro when you see a problem it already happened and now you're playing catch up, often it's already too late. I wish there was an easier way, but from what you ask, I think...
