I have a question for everyone that mounts their drivers remotely. I am trying to find out how to connect 3 of them in my mechanical timer without having to extend the Input side of the drivers. I need inspiration or a new point of view, I have yet to find a solution that is clean

Yeah man I was thinking about bundling my power to the tent in 6 conductor cord. The other stuff I purchased was for the drops and wiring within the tent

Pretty much except this cord is rated to do more. Oil resistant so it's cool to use with heavy machinery, it's also UV/weather/water resistant. A commercial extension cord if you will

Less than 2 bucks a piece from the UK vs over 3 dollars state side. I bought 12 in a kit so my shipping was covered due to volume, but yeah if you only need a few go state side and pay a lot more for it.

very nice. I just made a few internet purchases to start the building of my rig. Should be ready to build out not next week, but the week after. If enough people show interest in my build I might start a thread of my own. 210 ft of SOOW 12 wire connectors (like the ones that come in the kits)...

That should be fine, make sure that the connector can handle the load going through it. the connectors on the qb are rated for up to 300V so if those are at that same rating you will be good

I want to do what you are doing but lack of knowledge and finances are pushing back the start of my photo and far red channels. I will be running mechanical timers with dimming for all QBs, but once I do have photos, reds, and uv, it would be nice to run a slick controller. Check out what...

You can use the other tab to bridge the boards together. I am unsure if you can solder it back on, my guess would be that you can so long as you make a good connection

It is a coupling. It will allow you to "extend" the wires that go to the driver or from it. They are rated to prevent water from entering so they are best used inside the growing area (you may not need it). they are a way to prevent water from potentially causing a short circuit. If you have...

I will be running my drivers outside of my tent. I plan to use solid core on the boards the run into a junction box and using stranded all the way back to the driver.

I used Jameco Electronics. Good bulk pricing, was delivered within a week. Plus I was offered free shipping on next order, it does expire though

Well well, was there a significant difference with reflectors in the tent?

don't need reflectors in a tent setting. You are correct

Lol, so you are telling me that another leg of 120v will reduce amperage by 1/2?

With that driver you are supposed to wire in parallel I don't believe you can have two parallel strings like how you have it wired now. None of the boards should be wired together. Each board should get a lead from the positive and negative of the driver. You need 8 pieces of wire, two leads for...

After a second look I saw that the driver is wired in the box as well? the setup is beautiful. I am mounting all drivers and lighting controls outside the tent to maximize real estate, and protect the electronics.

Love that expensive J-box you installed for your potentiometer. Why did you use that?

you will be fine with just the insulation. Electrical tape has a rating on it for the heat that it can handle, but if the wire is insulated it will be enough to handle the task.
