1210w LED/HPS combo : Dream Star and Purple Dawg

Here are my clones on day 6 of 18/6 under 1210w. These first couple weeks are going to wreak havoc on my electric bill, but I want these ladies started off right! I noticed a few white spots on the leaves and found some mites and eggs. After squishing everything I could visibly see, I...

    room ventalation

It is going to depend on the temp of the surrounding rooms. If it's pulling in relatively cool air, you should be fine. Otherwise, you might want to toss a small fan intake.

    LED lights versus HPS?

HPS = more coverage, cheaper set-up, lots of heat LED = smaller coverage, more expensive initial but longer lasting, very little heat Watt for watt (1w led v. 1w hps) they are very similar yield-wise. It all depends on your room/financial limitations.

How much power consumption before "the man" gets suspicious?

You have nothing to worry about. Computers can have power supplies ranging up to 1000w+. It all depends on where you live and who you're paying electric to. PG&E rarely ask questions as long as the bill is paid. I know a couple people running 20,000 to 30,000 watts, paying their monthly bills of...

Will miracle gro be too strong with my nutes?

If you're going to disagree with me, at least give a valid reason. Saying "LOL miracle grow=bad." doesn't really prove anything, it just makes you look argumentative and takes away from your credibility. It's derived from most of the same stuff that every other fertilizer is: Potassium...

Will miracle gro be too strong with my nutes?

I don't fully agree with this. Remember, marijuana is a somewhat sensitive plant. I wouldn't use any nutrients until the plant is a few inches tall; then, you can add very light miracle grow. I did my very first 2 grows with miracle grow and it actually didn't do too bad. Remember, less is more...

What is the most efficient and cheap way to provide CO2 to my plants?

Don't put it in a sealed container, the generated CO2 will create pressure and can bust it. The CO2 needs to have a way of getting out of the container.

pics from today, will they be ready in time?

If you're starting from seed, try to germinate them and get them started in a little pot under a florescent. Get them about 6-12" tall before putting them in the ground and you will have much much larger plants.

    Is Flushing A Myth

Flushing is for synthetic nutrients. I just pulled about a pound from my indoor. I miss calculated flowering time on a few plants, so half the crop did NOT get flushed. It's pretty obvious when I smoke one half vs the other. The non-flushed half has a noticeable burn at the back of the throat...

What is the most efficient and cheap way to provide CO2 to my plants?

Came here to recommend this. Be sure that your grow room is relatively sealed if you are going to do this. If you have a fan pumping air in/out, then the CO2 adding won't really do anything. Also, CO2 will up your PPM. If you are giving CO2, your chance of nutrient burn rises. The yeast method...

    when to start flush?

I've tried a lot of different flush methods. It depends on what you are giving the plant for nutrients (organic vs synthetic). With organic, you don't need to start the flush until the final week. With synthetics, I usually do 2 week flush. BUT, I also give it a light watering of molasses or...

How often should I clean the glass on my air-cooled hood?

I can't imagine it being dusty enough to have to clean it more than once each harvest. If it's really that bad, just pull it out after the lights have been off a while and wipe it down with some Windex. Wait till the lights are out - otherwise it will be very hot.

1210w LED/HPS combo : Dream Star and Purple Dawg

I'm excited about this round. This is the most wattage I've run so far, and the weather should be cooling off so I'm not too worried about heat. This round I'm only running 2 strains, 9x Dream Star and 12x Purple Dawg. Both strains are from Oaksterdam Nursery. (...

Ebay is fine if you know what you're looking for. I've purchased all but two of my LED units on Ebay. All have been working great for close to a year now.

Advanced Nutrient: Connoisseur A/B + organic combo (huge buds!)

I'd say Bud Candy for sure. You don't really 'need' much more than that. Assuming you have good soil (FF Ocean Forest, Roots Organic, Black Gold, etc), you can get away with Sensi A/B and Bud Candy and still get great results.

Not sure. I've only really used LED and HPS. I've messed with a little CFL, but never by itself. Start a thread in the CFL sub-forum or read around there a bit.

    LED Lighting

You would probably want something a little bigger than a 90w LED for a space like that. I recommend the 120-250w panels. That's probably the highest wattage with lowest heat production you can get given the dimentions. HPS would be like a mini-heater in your room all the time if you can't...

Advanced Nutrient: Connoisseur A/B + organic combo (huge buds!)

Yeah, those are really leaning all over the place. You might want to invest in some fishing line or something to tie those cola's up. Don't use yarn or any string that has a lot of fibers; you don't want them getting threads stuck in your bud.
