Why Would You NOT Grow Autoflowers? — The Commitment-Shy Hobbyist

I'm guessing you also don't like yappy little dogs, especially any that can fit into a woman's handbag and answer to the name 'Fifi?'

Why Would You NOT Grow Autoflowers? — The Commitment-Shy Hobbyist

And what I'm saying is that "niche" is a pretty big one, and offers interesting opportunities to entrepreneurs of all stripes. Much like home winemaking there's a low-expertise, high-payback market of potential hobbyists out there, and autoflowers could be a meaningful part of the mix. It's a...

    FastBuds Pineapple Express Outdoor Grow

What I've started doing is germinating in the final pot. I put the seed in a peat pellet (for stability) and put the pot in a low-light outside area, with a plastic dome over the planted seed. My germination times are about 3 days, and after a week of hardening with increasing sun exposure...

Why Would You NOT Grow Autoflowers? — The Commitment-Shy Hobbyist

The California initiative (and other states') will continue steamrolling along, will become State law, and will send the Fed a hearty bite-me-gram. And then they'll thrash it out. The genie is out of the bottle, and the incoming president is going to have more urgent things to worry about.

Why Would You NOT Grow Autoflowers? — The Commitment-Shy Hobbyist

I'm thinking of it from a marketing perspective. Here in California, we'll probably pass our recreational initiative in November, and while the pro growers are going to grab the bulk of the market, I can't see hobbyist growers ever going way. So people who say "Damn, it's legal now. I wanna...

Why Would You NOT Grow Autoflowers? — The Commitment-Shy Hobbyist

I haven't done an assay on my paltry two plants, but subjectively they seem nearly as potent (but different, since I harvested before amber trichomes) as mid-shelf buds that are advertised at ~15% THC/THCA. As I said, this is my first grow in a very long time, and when I did it before there were...

Not on the Pinapple itself, but I do on my most recently harvested plant (which shows my general setup). It was an auto Jack Herer x AK47. https://www.rollitup.org/t/first-grow-autoflower-jack-herer-x-ak47.912356/

Why Would You NOT Grow Autoflowers? — The Commitment-Shy Hobbyist

I'm in my first grow since back in the dark ages, when it was really, really illegal and my seed stock was probably as potent as the Crate & Barrel rug I currently have on my front step. Now, of course, we have 21st Century genetics, and you can select from hundreds of different strains, each...

    Waiting for Amber Trichomes . . . and waiting . . . and waiting

Yeah, it's already June and time's a wastin' even here in California.

First grow: Autoflower Jack Herer x AK47

I LIVE IN A STATE that permits patients to grow their own medicine, so I decided to start a small outdoor grow. I HAVE A SUNNY BACK YARD with reasonable privacy and a profusion of other plantings — so it's hard to spot the medicinal ones among the flowers, shrubs, vegetables, and weeds. I'm...

Quick question as a new member -- I have the content for a grow journal but don't have posting privileges in the grow journal area. What sort of actions should I take to earn that privilege?

    Waiting for Amber Trichomes . . . and waiting . . . and waiting

Hmm. Washing seems pretty radical. I might try that on a bud or two, just for a test. I now have 8 plants in sequence, roughly 2 weeks apart each, and so will be harvesting nearly continuously for the next few months. Very petite harvests, admittedly. Also, your recommendation to harvest now...

    Waiting for Amber Trichomes . . . and waiting . . . and waiting

Yeah, I did a little research and ran out back to examine the troupe, and there's extremely slight evidence of webbing in maybe two other places. But no leaf nibbling at all. I'll keep an eye on it, even though I'm thinking it's from a more conventional spider that's been leaving similar webs...

    Waiting for Amber Trichomes . . . and waiting . . . and waiting

That's what I'm worried about. The buds continue to put on bulk, so I'm just going to be patient.

    Waiting for Amber Trichomes . . . and waiting . . . and waiting

Nearly all seem to be cloudy, with maybe 5-10% still clear, and maybe 1 in 1000 amber. As for the webs, this is an outdoor grow and I have at least 5 varieties of regular spiders living the the grow area. They eat most of the other bugs. Also there's a little yellow beetle that loves to curl up...

    Waiting for Amber Trichomes . . . and waiting . . . and waiting

So help me out. My trichomes won’t turn and I’m worrying. Here’s the specs: Auto Jack Herer x AK47 x Siberian ruderalis Outdoor grow, Northern California, in home-made ‘supersoil’ Currently 90 days from germination Plant is now looking extremely raggedy, with almost no functioning leaves. As...
