    Sta-Green soil reviews/Nut question

The Sta-Green in the yellow bag works great. Cut 4 parts soil to 1 part coarse perlite. However you'll need to start feeding because there are almost no nutes in that soil. Not sure about any other Sta-Green types.

my first cfl grow any help very much appreciated.

You've got bare wires, aluminum foil and a Cheez-It box? Looks like a bit of a fire hazard to me. Take care of the wiring issue first... I think the rest looks good enough.

    Disproportionate growing - Help!

How much farther are we talking about? Even with the bulbs at 6-7 inches above, it shouldn't be stretching. Since you mention it's burning the leaves it's likely close enough. Bag seeds aren't all going to grow the same, even if it's from the same stash. It's a lot like mutt dogs that all come...

    CFL Low Ryder x Ak47?

Bathroom lights in a rubbermaid box will work fine. You've probably seen the rubbermaid boxes on this site. A 30 gallon will hold 2 light strips on each side, that hold 3 bulbs each. Use 6 x 26W @ 6500k and when they start auto flowering, you can add some Y connectors for a total of 10 bulbs...

    My first PC grow box.

Before you leave for a week, transplant into larger containers. Bury the stems all the way up to the embryonic leaves. Water very well and then you can leave for a week. Make sure you put perlite in the soil, 1 part perlite to 4 parts soil for drainage. If you container is large enough, it...

    CFL temperature?

They still put out some heat. If you let them sit around with no ventilation, the 6500k will run up to about 100F and the 2700k to about 110F. If you have a grow box, you can put an exhaust fan to blow the hot air out, and put a fan on the bottom as an intake to move the cooler air upwards...

    have i got enough light?

I'm sure you'll be fine. I've used 6 26 watt cfl's to veg out 6 plants before, which is only 156 watts total. Just keep them about 3-4 inches above the plants and they will grow stocky.

    CFLstealth Green Grow (Bagseed)

Going green is great but you probably want to invest in some 2 gallon containers at the smallest for the flowering phase. Just remember, shit in - shit out. Also don't let your roots be exposed to light.

    Earliest time to start flowering?

If you have a bagseed or some other unknown strain you'll probably want to veg it out for at least 4-5 weeks unless you want to risk a hermie and have a ton of seeds. With a PC case, I would top the 4th node, and then FIM the two new branches. Keep it going for a month and when you switch to...

    cfl lights

I'd use as many 25 watt CFL bulbs as you can cram in there. You can use cheap bathroom fixtures and Y-connectors. The 6500k (GE brand) bulbs are about $7 a pair and the 2700k (Great Value brand) bulbs are about $7 for 4 at Wal-Mart. If one burns out, you don't lose all your light and it's...

    ice CFL pics..

Looking good! I don't really see any nute burn. You may need a little better ventilation in your box. The bulbs still run pretty warm, like 100 degrees or so, which is enough to burn a leaf on contact. But putting it at 4-6 inches from the lights always worked fine for me. For smell, you...

What do I do if roots are growing out of holes of 3gallon pots

It is said 1 gallon per foot of height is a good rule to follow. If that's true, 3 gallons should be able to support a 3 foot plant. I really doubt 5 weeks into veg your plant is this tall. You should be ok.

    Help, yellowing/brown of leaves PICS

The pH needs to be around 6.5. Yours is too low. Get some And add to 1 TBSP to 1 QT of hot water, let cool and pour. Do this for the next few waterings and it will straighten out. BTW, 20-20-20 food is rather strong. Go easy on it.

should i transplate my plants before flowering?

What he said. Transplant to the final container in the beginning of the flower phase. After 8-10 weeks of blooming, you WILL see roots sticking out of the drain holes in the larger pot!

    seedling yellowing.PICS

This is cheap and works great for veg: http://www.nelsonplantfood.com/Products/ColorStar19136.aspx If you can find it in stores, it's usually $10 for 2 lbs. A little bit goes a long way. Use 1/4 to 1/2 tsp at a time. Crush it up, drop it in scalding hot water, stir and let cool down...

3rd grow making me want to quit. Slow growth, help

Looking good but if you're having over-watering issues, you should cut your soil with white coarse perlite. Use 4 parts soil to 1 part perlite. You can get the MG brand perlite from the big stores and it works well.
