Im assuming the wattage was simply too much... the bulb couldnt handle it... Especially if it was at the end of its life. I've always stayed away from running more watts into a bulb that was only ever designed to run at the designated wattage. Curious.... how long did you run it on superlumens...

If you have superb soil on hand and nothing else, you could actually use that soil as a top dress.

I use the 1000 and the 2000. The 1000 works great in a 2x2 tent or as additional lighting and or spectrum boost. No complaints.
