You can either push it into the soil or take a sample and add some water so it's muddy and test that. I never noticed too big of a difference either way.

I was at 700 a little more than a week ago and I just bumped them up every couple of days and watched how they reacted. I just added more nutes yesterday and it jumped to 1500. The motivation responded to the nutes better than my armageddon, so yeah I would say bump your ppms to 1000 and see how...

Yeah they suck but it's better than nothing, unless you want to spend some serious $$$$. When I grew in soil that's what I used, just test different parts of the soil to get a general idea.

You can use GH PH up and down to adjust your ph.

Yeah it looks like a phosphorous deficiency, but it could be PH lockout. Definitely buy a PH tester. You should test the soil not the runoff.

Dude you HAVE to check your PH. My money is on that being the problem. If your PH is too high or too low your plant can't absorb the nutrients and will show signs of deficiency. Also try watering less often, you only need to water when all the soil gets dry. Here is a chart that may help you....

What is your PH? It does look like a phosphorous def.

Yeah I agree with smokie....here is a PH chart. I let mine drop to 5.8 then raise to 6.2.
