How many plants are you growing? How high is your closet? With proper cooling and ventilation you could use up to a 250w MH/HPS in a closet with your dimensions and assuming at least 7' high. My buddy has a 400w MH/HPS in a 2x2x8 towel closet with a water cooled reflector and inline fan venting...

Those UFO's won't be enough for a 3x4 area. Even together in 1 tent. They compare to 2 50w hps each. Do yourself a favor and get at least a 400w HID per tent. It will save you alot of money and your yields will be much better.

Get a rubbermaid bin and fill it with your water/nute mix. Get a small water pump and put it in the bin on a timer to turn on for a minute or two every couple days. Just attach a hose to the exit of the pump and lead it with splitters to the tops of your pots. Easy as that... Edit - Damn jesus...

Yes a 400w would be perfect for 3 plants. And yes soil is fine, especially for new growers. I would recommend a fox farm soil. I've used their Ocean Forest with good results. edit- damn, beat me to it wyte lol
